Since Pizzana’s Los Angeles debut in April 2017, the restaurant from partners Candace & Charles Nelson has garnered critical and national acclaim for Master Pizzaiolo Daniele Uditi’s inspired take on the Naples staple. In addition to Michelin Bib Gourmand accolades, Pizzana was most recently recognized as one of the top pizzerias in the world by international guide, 50 Top Pizza. Uditi also appears as a lead judge on Hulu’s Best in Dough pizza competition series.

First, the service we had was terrible. We came in and there was only 1 other customer there and they were at the counter. It took the only staff member we saw to notice us waiting and seat us, again there was no one in any of the seats at all. She gave us menus and went on her way, on her phone. She came back for a drink order and we actually had to remind her to get it, by then we had already ordered. The food took a long time to come out and when it did it was cold.
All of it was cold. I had pasta and my husband had pizza, that was cold. We had also ordered bread, for a fee, and had to remind the server to get it. Our food was already there. She does like her phone.
My pasta had ricotta and it was right out of the frig. Now, I get you don’t want to heat it much, it will just melt, but this was so very cold, it ruined the meal.
My husband’s pizza was not good, even cold and we took it home to our dogs. He ate my food.
We ordered dessert at the same time we ordered dinner. The server forgot. We had to remind her and it was the smallest and coldest little tiny piece of lemon cake I have ever seen. It was fine though.
For what you get the prices are too high. It is too bad because the place is pretty and it was clean.
I have had bad service before but there was just no excuse for this. She needs to get another job. We won’t be back. What a waste of money that was.
Our waiter, Chase, was fantastic. Very helpful, super attentive, and checked on us often. He also gave us great food recommendations. And Mariana (yes, she had my name!), the manager, came to greet us and was extremely welcoming, such a nice touch!
My favorite dish today was definitely the Cacio e Pepperoni pizza! SO good! I also ordered the meatballs, which were outstanding. The bread had this unique texture that was such a hit. Loved it! I also had the broccolini, Margherita al Crudo and the vodka pasta. Everything was absolutely delicious.
And of course… I can never leave without ordering my all-time favorite dessert: the chocolate cake with ice cream. I swear, it is the best dessert I’ve ever had in my life. If you go to Pizzana, you must get it. No skips!
Another thing I love is their membership program! When you sign up (it’s free) to be a member, you get a free pizza every month with a $25 purchase. Such a good deal! I’m a member, and I always get my free pizza. You should definitely join too.
They truly are the best in town!
We ended up ordering take out. It took forever. Almost an hour to be exact. We saw 20+ people come and go with takeout orders. If you dont order through their app, good luck waiting.
The food itself was good. Ingredients were fresh but way overpriced. 3 pizzas and 1 pasta for $115 seems steep.
If you decide to come here, either download the app to order ahead or make a reservation. They dont accommodate walk ins even if they have open tables.
Pickup was smooth — I arrived about five minutes before the scheduled time, and I appreciated that the food wasn’t ready too early and just sitting around. Everything was hot and fresh when I got it. Although we did not dine in today, they need to do something about the ambience of this restaurant because it feels like an office building and it’s not really appealing.
We ordered one of our go-to favorites, the Mushroom Fungi pizza, and it was just as good as always: rich, slightly earthy flavors with a perfectly crispy crust. We also tried the Neo Margherita for the first time, and I think this might be my new favorite. Bright, flavorful, and absolutely delicious.
For salads, we went with our usual Caesar, which was tasty as always — although unfortunately it came with an unexpected piece of plastic in it (not ideal). We also tried the special, Panzanella alle Pesche x Kale Me Maybe. The mix of tomatoes (kumato, sungold, ruby red), charred pizza croutons, peach, stracciatella, basil, and hot honey balsamic vinaigrette was refreshing and unique. The croutons surprisingly weren’t soggy, which I really appreciated. That said, it felt like it was missing a little something to bring all the flavors together.
Overall, we were really impressed with how well the pizzas traveled and how fresh everything tasted. Even with the steep prices, it was a solid takeout experience — aside from the minor salad mishap. We’ll definitely order again.
This is a must to try !delicious!
I also ordered Rucola salad with arugula, spinach and shaved fennel with lemon sauce and pine nuts . Great combination ! Very fresh and complementing pizza perfectly.
For the desert I followed Pizzana’s manager’s recommendation and ordered Torta Al limone – Vegan – gluten free-lemon sponge cake – it felt like freshest carrot cake but lemons instead carrots plus white chocolate on top -pure joy!
It was a quiet Monday sunset time at Pizzana so I enjoyed a chat with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff members Sophia ,Melanie and Mikael that completed my super positive experience of this hard Monday’s night dinner . Will be back soon!
