Excellent service and tasty food! The amaranth porridge (gluten free) was such a comfort food for my soul and the breakfast sandwich burger my friend got was the bomb. Good portion for the price. The servers were super sweet. Will come back again!

This place is absolutely amazing. Great food, great service, incredible coffee, and the desserts are extraordinary. The donuts? Out of this world.
The vibe, the décor, the lighting — everything is on point. The staff is welcoming and attentive, and even the music selection was perfect.
10/10. Congratulations to the whole team — you’re doing an outstanding job.

I love that they operate by walk ins only. And if you do have to wait, just know it’s worth it.
The staff are cute as hell, the service is attentive but not overbearing, and the food is worth the price.
If you’re looking for wood fired pizza and upscale casual dining look no further.
Do yourself a favor and order the Caesar salad and if it’s available the strawberry Negroni in addition to your pizza 😉
This spot is definitely an Oakland staple to visit monthly if not weekly! And the temescal neighborhood has so many places to hop to after your meal!

Had a lovely experience. Food was high quality and delicious. Wasn’t fond of the salty olive oil gelato, but the happy hour spritz cocktail was refreshing.

This is a go-to restaurant for me and my family. There are great vibes indoor and the food is always delicious. I recently learned that they have Sunday brunch offerings, which were pretty good too! If you go off peak times you can usually get seated in less than 10 minutes. Parking on telegraph can be difficult, so be prepared to park on nearby side streets.

Decent Italian place, but not as good as it appears from how busy it is and the high reviews.

The wait can be long. Put your name down and check back frequently. They don’t call or text you. We waited almost 1 hr at dinner time on a Sat. They have indoor and outdoor seating (with heat lamps). Very dark inside.

Small 1 page menu. Always a good thing. We ordered the mushroom pasta $36, pork ragu pasta $32, morel pizza (mushroom) $34, and panna pizza $29. Both pastas were housemade, high quality, good flavor, decent portion. While the pizzas had a great crust and were good overall, they were all charred. Both pizzas, one so severely charred that we asked for a new one, which they kindly provided. New one was still charred but much more edible. Check the bottom of your pizza before eating. The pizzas felt overpriced

Overall, overrated
Cons: overpriced, can’t cook pizza properly, minimal service
Pros: authentic food, high quality ingredients
They add a 4% living wage that you can request to take off. I don’t recommend this place. There are better options

Delicious food! Outside is way too loud so we moved to the back patio which was so nice. Spacious with spaced out seating and space heaters. It’s at the back of the building too so it’s away from cars and pedestrians.

All around good experience. Popular place. Line out the door for opening. For good reason too. Very good neopolitqn style pizza. Obviously the pepperoni hot honey jalapeño was great. Carrot appetizer and the tuna and beet one was very good too.

Pizzaola in Oakland feels like the kind of place a wandering poet would stumble into on a sleepy afternoon and decide to stay forever. The air smells like warm dough and small miracles, and the pizzas arrive looking like they were assembled by someone who believes toppings are a form of storytelling.

The crust? Golden, airy, and just chewy enough to make you close your eyes for a second—as if you’re thanking the universe for wheat. The sauce tastes like tomatoes that spent their childhood summers sunbathing in Italy, and the cheese melts in a way that makes you wonder if gravity works differently in this kitchen.

Every bite feels like a tiny celebration. A confetti cannon of flavor. A late-night jazz riff turned edible.

Good music hums through the space, the kind that makes the room feel alive without asking for attention. The staff moves with the easy confidence of people who know they’re serving something worth remembering, and the vibe is cozy, quirky, and inviting.

If you want a meal that feels less like dinner and more like a charming detour into a softer, tastier universe, Pizzaola is where you should drift next.
