Another weekend on Route 66! This time our stop was in Arcadia, OK at the Pizza Shack. In my never ending quest to find great pizza I stumbled across this place totally by accident.
They have been opened for just about a year and they are right next to the Chicken Shack which is owned by the same people. Another great place to try.
Being first time customer we didn’t know what to expect. Although they only serve one size pizza and it’s a thin crust my thoughts were that this wasn’t a pizza for me. However, my wife loves the thin crust so I made an exception and thought I had to try it.
We arrived later in the afternoon and we were the first dine-in customers. I noticed several others come in for to go orders.
Now I’m not familiar with the Iowa Stone Pizza but I was about to be schooled! For simplicity sake one size, one style, crunchy crust is not a bad concept.
We opted for the Canadian Bacon & Pineapple and for many that’s blasphemous but it reality it’s a very good combo. My wife felt the meats would be too heavy on her stomach as she was getting over a short illness. Overall the pizza was better than I have expected since I’m not the thin crust kind of guy. It held up nicely with the toppings and cheese. If we make our way back again I’ll have to remember not so much cheese. I’m not as big a cheese fan as my wife, typically she’ll order extra cheese – she didn’t on this one!
We started out with the Savannah Sticks – Cheesy Bread – tasty, but I’m not a cheesy bread fan.
The staff was quite enjoyable and they provided us with all the details we could ask for! They were quite engaging and that made the dining experience great. Unique rustic indoor dining decor, we sat at a picnic table and had a great conversation with our friends!
Obviously there was more pizza than we could eat so a take home bag was in store for us! Their Saturday hours made it easy for us to choose a time to go. Weekdays they open at 4 but Saturday’s they open at 11.
This is just another stop in my weekend adventures and another restaurant in Route 66.

First things first: the pizza was great! Thin crust and perfectly cooked. Has a nice crisp edge, and seasoned well. Veggies are fresh and hand cut and it definitely makes a difference.
The atmosphere is really neat. The building sits next to RT.66 so it has some history. Very relaxed and casual. Very clean.
The best part though, was talking to the staff. They are great! Very friendly and eager to make you happy.
Its worth a stop to check this place out and get some great pizza. Talk to the staff and learn a little bit about them and the Pizza Shack.

My friends and I went to Pizza Shack last night and had the BEST time. The tavern style pizza was so delicious and we were able to customize with any toppings we wanted. The vibe inside is so cozy and fun. Bob and Tessa were so friendly, helpful, and fun to chat with. We will definitely be back here many times!

What a fun, quirky little place! The pizza was great and loaded with toppings. As others have said, it comes in a bag not a box but I think that’s super fun just don’t let the top get stuck to the cheese. I took my pie to go but there is some Frankhoma pottery for sale there that I cannot seem to forget so I’ll be going back for that too. They only offer one large size on the pizza with thin crust, no gluten free or cauliflower choices. Mine was about $25. all in. Totally worth it, I had left overs for lunch for days and I was so happy with my meal every time. Yum

First time here. New restaurant so it has its kinks. Takes about 40 minutes to get pizza but luckily there’s live music and.drinks at chicken shack next door.

Pizza is the best! We have tried multiple Pizza places near Edmond and Jones and this place takes the win. The crust is thin and crispy. The flour is obtained locally in Harrah which is a major plus! The owner takes great pride in making sure he is using the best ingredients to deliver the best Pizza. The toppings are always plentiful and never stingy. Highly recommend! My husband Zane is very picky about his Pizza and he loves this place! There is also a cute little gift-shop at the front of the store. I have also seen people order Pizza and walk it over to enjoy music and drinks at the chicken shack.

Was out driving around and stopped to explore the Historic Round Barn, saw the Pizza Shack and thought why not let’s try it……. So glad we did we got the Margarita pizza and it was amazinggg….will definitely be comin back to try the take and bake ones!!!
