Totally recommend going to Pizza Rio! Our food, atmosphere, and experience were outstanding! We ordered the Salida Supreme 20” pizza highly recommend, it was totally worth it!! Loved the roasted garlics! To drink we had coke and a Whitewater Cowboy! The size of the 20” is perfect to share with four people. The roof top has a great view to the river!

As anyone from NY will tell you, you’re expected to be able to tell people what is good pizza.
6 years in the military have brought me all over the world(and the US), and let me tell you ive have my fair share of pizza (and wings), so much so im a self proclaimed pizza and wing critic.
This is the most NY tasting pizza i have ever had in this state. This is a very high praise.
Few criticisms, cupped pepperoni, that aint it. And your sauce needs some more garlic.
9/10 pizza

Pretty good pizza. Preferences can pretty diverse for pizza so the dough is moderately thin, slightly chewy but not burnt. If your looking for a thick, soft doughy crust this isn’t for you. The outdoor seating over the river is nice. The entrance could be difficult to find and the layout can be a little tight to get around, so not ideal for large groups but manageable.

Pizza Rio is legit! Big slices & great sauce! Closest to NY we have ever gotten in Colorado…and we have lived here 10 years and tried many pizzas The outdoor patio is the place to eat…overlooking the salida river! Just got the Figalicious and Paddler half/half pizza and may have had a little more arugula than we expected but was still delicous!

We got into town in the evening on a ski trip and we all wanted some pizza. We stumbled on Pizza Rio and were glad we did, the crust, the sauce, toppings and cheese were all delicious.
The bar tender was server, waitress and bussing tables. She did a great job and earned her good tip.
The space was trendy while overlooking the river. We would definitely go back if we’re ever in Salida again.

Excellent pizza place in Salida! Our server Blakeley was very courteous and friendly gave great recommendations on what to order. I love that they use fresh ingredients like fresh beets on the salad not canned and their homemade pasta and meatballs were delicious! Pizza was great! We’ll be back 🙂 the view of the river and mtn is a bonus!

Being locals who get pizza once a week in salida, I’m pretty disappointed with the pizzas we received tonight from Pizza Rio and don’t know if we will continue to come here. Not only was the 20” only 16”, see photo, but it was drenched in sauce, had little to no cheese and was undercooked. I took off pepperoni and subbed red onions, but was charged for that substitution? Other pizza places in town don’t charge when I take off meat and sub a veggie. The winner winner chicken dinner was also underwhelming and dry with not enough red sauce. Huge bummer as the first few times we went it was good but now seeming to lack consistency. Not worth the $75 I spent on two pizzas.

Pretentious and overrated. I can’t even rate them on food because they wouldn’t serve my to-go order. I waited at the desk for 15 minutes while the server polished liquor bottles and solicited orders from people who cut in front of me. Too cool to serve takeout orders on a Saturday. I’ll take my business elsewhere.
