Got there at 7:20. And when worker came from back was greeted with we close in a half hour. Which they close at 8 and we stop putting food out at 7:40. And in a rude tone like we were inconvenience to her. No how are you doing? Not even a hi or hello. Not only that she doesn’t know how to tell time. So we walked out.

I’m struggling with this review of our experience tonight. First of all, my kids did enjoy themselves and all in all we had a good time. I would love to visit again and sincerely hope that some of the things I mention will be addressed. This place has so much potential. There are only 2 other places in Dubuque that I am aware of that have a game area like this and one has those foam pits that are disgusting where we always end up sick within a day of visiting and the other is in a hotel and has no food or anything so I would really love to see this place become a little better. There were 4 adults and 2 kids (8 and 12) and we paid almost $100 for the buffet and drinks (and an additional $50 on game cards). For what you get, I’d definitely say that’s on the high side, though if there were a few improvements (see below) I don’t think I’d be as upset at the price. I’d suggest offering “packages” that bundle play time for a cheaper price when bought together with the buffet. Also, for new comers, more sinage or communication on how it works, pay at register, sit anywhere, always use new plate etc. I didn’t notice anything like this and felt very frustrated trying to figure it out on my own. Doesn’t help that I encountered nothing but employees who would rather have their nails pulled out with pliers than be at work and they were very obviously bothered by the fact that I would ask anything of them. That brings me to my next issue, this place was just gross. The floors were covered in food that had been ground into the floors. I’ve worked in food service, there is no excuse for this, EVER! Also, so much deffered maintenance on the building and facilities. Not sure if they own or rent, but broken toilets, leaking vents, looks like it hasn’t been painted in years. The food, what we ate was actually really good! I loved the selection offered pizza, pasta, fried chicken with sides and a small salad bar, which would be plenty except I didn’t even get to try the pasta salads or whatever they were because they were empty on the salad bar all 3 times I checked. Also, the ice cream bar is always my favorite at a buffet, but it was nothing but vanilla soft serve and a cup. No chocolate, no cones, and no toppings. This could very easily be upgraded with one of those gallon jugs of chocolate syrup with a pump and a few toppings, sprinkles, or something, anything to upgrade dessert a little. Lastly, the big draw for us was the arcade and there were 9 machines out of order and the card filler was out of order as well. The young lady at the desk was missing half the time, very impatient with some of the kids struggling to pick their prizes (which should be the fun part). She kept disappearing and when she was there was sitting down and on her phone. She didn’t greet anyone who walked up just stood there staring at us, I had to ask her if she was ready to help us. Very unprofessional and unpleasant. This place seems to be run by an absentee owner and a manager who just doesn’t care. It could be so much better. Too bad corporate isn’t more involved, it really reflects badly.

Don’t come here very often, but we were well satisfied with everything that we experienced here the food was hot and fresh. The salad bar was everything that we love to have and of course the ice cream and the cookie was the top for me.

They normally have the best fried chicken in town. The hardest part of picking up chicken is the wonderful smell in the car makes it hard to wait to get home.
Monday they mist of had a new cook.
No great smell in the car.
The chicken was overcooked.
It was good.
But it is normally excellent!

Well we did not get the deal advertised all over the outside of the building that was 2 adults for $25 even though we were there at the right time on the right day. We witnessed a crew member who took a poop in the bathroom and had thrown his apron on the ground while going and proceed to pickup it up and tie it back on after he was done going which is absolutely filthy.

Great food! Love the chicken and salad offerings. The pizza is great, but the broadted chicken is great. Dessert offerings are nice. Impressive overall
Nice Asbury surprise!

Updated Feb 2020: Still a great place to eat. Everything was perfect.

Great Family Food

The price is right, the food is great, and there’s a nice family atmosphere. We have made four visits in the last month or so. Every time, we have enjoyed ourselves. I really like their chicken! One of the servers even has a T-shirt with the phrase, “we could have called it the ‘Chicken Ranch.'” I’ve thought of the menu having kid’s favorites, of pizza, chicken Mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, and ice cream. But, I love it too! It’s all buffet, so you won’t go away hungry. And if you want a special pizza, they will make that too.

Come and enjoy!

Food was ok and the girl at the counter was nice. I was visiting from out of town with some friends and evidently we overstayed our welcome. As we were getting ready to leave the man picking up dishes began pushing me with his cart. He ran over my foot. Then proceeded to talk about me to the table behind us. He said “she didn’t say anything and she didn’t give me the middle finger.” I was so shocked that I didn’t say anything and we just left.

This was our second time hosting a birthday party at Pizza Ranch. Our first experience was wonderful, but unfortunately this time was extremely disappointing.

When we arrived, our party reservation wasn’t in the books. Although staff were able to find the booking online, no space had been prepared for us because they hadn’t planned for our arrival. We were placed in a room that was supposed to be for another party and were told we needed to be finished within an hour so they could prepare for the group that had originally reserved it. The whole experience felt rushed and very unorganized.

I paid for the Silver Party Package, which is advertised to include: • 3 large pizzas
• 10 drink cups
• 10 $10 gift cards
• Ice cream
• Plates & tablecloths
• 10 gift bags

What we actually received was: • 3 large pizzas
• Only 4 gift cards
• No drink cups
• No ice cream
• No plates or tablecloths
• Only 4 gift bags

The associates working were kind, but this issue was clearly a management and planning failure. For nearly $200, the value and experience fell far below expectations. I’m very disappointed and, based on this visit, I can no longer recommend Pizza Ranch for birthday parties, nor do I plan to book future events here.

Would of been a totaly positive review but they made a switch to Pepsi product instead of Coke the one and only fountain drink that I loved and looked forward to getting when going there, don’t know what kind of deal Pepsi offered them but I am totally disappointed in the change.
