I preface this by saying I was half way through my meal when I decided to review this place because ITS SOOOO GOOOD!. My pictures reflect this.
The pizza is phenomenal. Just get one. The wood fired wings with Buffalo on the side were tremendous. The Buffalo sauce is not some shelf sauce, it’s different and delicious. Tons of flavor. Spicy!
Jason served us and is an absolute pleasure. Great conversation, and he served everyone with a huge smile. This guy hustled! Hello from Texas my friend.

The wings were not fully cooked. It was a take out order and they were put in a cardboard box with a piece of brown paper on the bottom then they dumped the buffalo sauce over everything- wings, carrots celery. Not at all appetizing. The byo pizza was fine.

The service from Lexi was top-notch. I told her how I didn’t like sandwiches and she recommended the perfect one for me.
The atmosphere was excellent, great music and It looks like everyone works very well together. I am so glad I gave them a try.

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous!! Everything was entirely delightful, from our pizzas and sandwich, to even the drinks, which had a nice, syrupy taste that wasn’t flat or watered down!
Our server, Payton (Sorry if the spelling is incorrect), was attentive, very friendly and personable, and nailed our orders! And it was so encouraging to see that this business does not appear to use GenAI for their logo, and their straws are made from recycled plastic!
All-in-all a fantastic local business by the ocean with affordable pricing and food worth raving about! Thank you for a great dining experience!

We were just happy to have an alternative to standard NY Style Pizza. I would love to return and try some different toppings. For me, a great neapolitan pizza requires San Marzano Tomatoes and the ol’ Mozzarella di Bufala, but that’s harder to come by in the U.S. The 00 Flour is always nice to have. The bruschetta was great! The service was nice and the environment perfect for the location. The “sweet tea” was terrible. Definitely not a normal southern sweet tea. Pricing was as expected for the location.

We’re staying at Surfside Beach Resort, so naturally, this was a “must-try” place. We went at dinnertime. It was busy, but our server was on top of things. We just wanted to get a few appetizers to try a variety of food. Hyena Balls (in pizza sauce) served with “warm ripped pizza bread”, Roasted Red Pepper Hummus (with fresh veggies and the same bread, and Nekkid Chicken Wings (10 in an order). It was PLENTY of food and REALLY good!! Highly recommend!

We had delicious pizza at this cozy friendly restaurant not long ago. Merritt is a cheerful, busy server who not only took care of the 5 of us but many others. Our pizzas were fantastic and just the right size. We took 2 very fresh Caesar salads to go. The next time we come back to visit, we will definitely eat at Pizza Hyena. My husband and I went to Pizza Hyena for lunch on Saturday, and we had such a great experience. Our server, Babz, was incredibly personable and helpful. We ordered drinks, and based on her recommendation to try the hot honey Hyena sauce on the wings—wow, she was spot on. They were fabulous!
I ordered the portobello mushroom sandwich, and it was delicious. The bread was light and fluffy, and the arugula added the perfect touch (I love arugula!). The atmosphere was fun and lively with college football on the TVs. We sat inside; it’s a bit on the darker side since there isn’t much natural light, but it didn’t take away from the experience.
We’ve also tried their pizza before, and it’s fantastic. We’ll definitely be going back. Check it out when you’re in Surfside!

My family and I (2 adults, 2 young kids) stumbled upon this spot escaping the hit sub the 4th of July. We got quick service and great food. Our server Babs was amazing. She was on it the whole time with refills, to go boxes. The vibe was great and with Babs as our waitress we had an amazing time. We will definitely come back. Highly recommend.
