The food itself is OK, certainly pretty good for the first hour or so after it comes out of the oven. I was surprised by how good the pasta was. But after about an hour, the flavors kind of congeal and don’t taste very fresh, making everything kind of ‘meh.’
Pound for pound, I’ll give this Pizza Hut 3.69/5 stars. Food is OK when fresh, service and atmosphere are OK, and design is unusually cool.
Once I got past that false advertising, I ordered my $9 one- topping medium pizza and $7 chicken pizza melt for pick up.
Here’s all the good stuff:
I went to pick it up at the time the app said it was ready and it was ready on time!
The inside of this Pizza Hut is really clean. Free parking too.
The staff are very friendly and seem to keep busy. You can see the kitchen right there behind the counter and I am happy to report it is immaculate! Super clean.
The food was hot. My order was accurate. And both items were delicious, especially that Pizza Melt. It might be my new favorite thing at Pizza Hut. It’s THAT GOOD! The pizza was good too.
I’m usually a big fan of another pizza chain, but this Pizza Hut in Palm Springs is making me re-think things!
P.S. They don’t serve beer or wine in the restaurant like they used to anymore. Might be why the restaurant always seems empty. Sign of the post-pandemic times I guess.
There was only one staff member working, and it seemed like they were very busy with a large group order. We were asked to wait, which we understood. Even though we hadn’t placed an order yet, we waited about 30 minutes patiently.
After finally ordering, we waited another 30 minutes for our pizza. However, what we received was not the pizza we ordered. What upset me the most was the staff’s attitude. The staff member clearly knew that the pizza was not what we ordered, but instead of apologizing, they simply told us to eat it. It felt more like an instruction than a request.
After waiting for over an hour, this response made us feel very uncomfortable and disrespected. At one point, we even wondered if we were treated this way because we are Asian.
We asked for a refund, but again, there was no apology. The staff member also didn’t know how to process the refund, so we had to wait even longer in the store.
This was a very unpleasant experience during what was supposed to be a happy family trip. We will not return to this place, and I hope other customers do not have to go through the same experience.
To make it worse, our order was incorrect, ironically it was handled by that “manager “
But if that’s the case, why direct customers to check online for pricing while in-store, only to then charge them more? That’s misleading. I ended up getting a refund and just reordered online for pickup.
Also worth noting associate Kevin could really use some customer service training. Misinforming customers and being dismissive when concerns are raised is not a good look. Pricing should be clearly visible in-store, not a mystery you solve after being overcharged.
Attached are the menus, no prices listed on them and none visible in-store. My advice: just order online, even if you’re standing inside or sitting in your car. The staff simply isn’t equipped to handle basic questions.
