I arrive five minutes early (25 minutes) to pick up my order. The person working the drive thru was not knowledgeable about anything and acted as though it was their first day. No biggie yet, as jobs can be challenging and it very well could have been the person’s first day. They came back to the window and said it would be a few minutes as they were waiting on the fries (all 11 of them) to finish. At this point we are now over the 30 minutes that should have actually been 20 minutes. Still no big deal, slightly frustrated though. After another five minute the person brough me my order and i drove home to eat dinner with my family.
Upon first bite of my pizza melt I was greated with a gnarly rubbery chunk of sausage that has no business being in my pepperoni lovers pizza melt. So I then inspected my food and saw that it was some sort of meaty melt with all sorts of things other than pepperoni. I called the store.
Have you ever tried calling your pizza hut’s local phone number? A non human answers the phone and you have to select an option. This is a small town and that is unnecessary and stupid. When I was able to finally talk to a human I spoke with someone who was unable to answer a yes or no question, who was not able to accept my order number that I was reading off to them, and who did not know anything about anything. They finally got someone of some sort of importance on the phone to help me. I explained to them what the situation was and they asked what I wanted. I said I wanted the correct item and I expected them to deliver it since they are the ones who screwed everything up, the person agreed to get that done and owned responsibility for the error in their kitchen. They then said it would be 30 minutes. I asked why so long and opposed that solution, as my family was eating dinner now and therefore I would be unable to eat with them. They then said I would have an in store credit of $10 to use upon my next visit. I asked how I could use that, if I would be getting an email with a coupon code or what. I was then told that there would be no email or code and that I would have to call or come in to use the credit.
The correct pizza melt arrived at my house over ONE HOUR LATER.
You can read this review as you wish, I mean they did make everything wrong correct and gave me an in store credit. However the issues with this store have been on going forever and this is my point of no return. Out of all of the food ordered on this night the only thing that tasted good were the boneless wings. The pasta was overcooked with a crunchy and rubbery texture and the “alfredo cheese sauce” was as thin as water while the breadsticks that come with the pasta were so hard someone could have used them to break a window if they wanted to. Getting my corrected lukewarm food over an hour later after my initial call to them in unacceptable.
I am a local person to this store, and all of the other reviews of how filthy and poorly ran this store is are all true and accurate. I highly advise you to reconsider this store. If you do eat inside, double check your receipt before paying because they are shady on how they apply coupons.
I also have a concern with the “in store” credit. It seems as though keeping the credit in house avoids Corporate from knowing anything about the issues with the store as there is no record of the issue happening.
Simply put, avoid this store. If you need Pizza Hut drive ten miles north to the one in the next town. You will have a much better experience.
There were four employees who watched us come through the doors and they all immediately went to the back, food prep area. After waiting for a few moments we tried to get the attention of the one employee who poked his head out to see if we were still there. After a few more moments of being ignored, we left.
This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had, dealing with food service.
I won’t be going back. I’ll go to Casey’s or Domino’s.
