Empire Pizza on Broadway is easily one of the top spots in New Haven. I’ve tried a lot of pies in the city, and this one really stands out. The crust comes out nice and crisp with just the right chew, and it’s got that classic New Haven char that makes every slice legit. The sauce is full of flavor and the cheese always hits just right.
Being right on Broadway makes it super convenient, whether you’re walking through after class, grabbing a quick bite, or meeting up with friends. The atmosphere is laid back, the crew keeps things moving, and you never have to wait long for a fresh hot slice. It’s the kind of place that instantly feels like a go-to spot.

Nana Cinnabun
The party size pizza has really thin crust. And the extremely thinner parts of the crust were burnt. However, I loved the deep dark red color of the sauce and it was delicious.
Not much parking even for pick up.
It was really cold inside.
However, I’m not giving it a bad rating. I’m just not a fan of the thin crust, if I had known I wouldn’t have ordered it.
I’ll still willing to give another try.

We landed at HVN with an appetite and stopped at Empire. The gentleman behind the counter was amazing and our pizza was incredible. The crunch on the pie was absolutely amazing and truly ended our day of travel on a high note. As a family from Florida what a great intro to New Haven pizza! Thanks Empire Pizza

I ordered pizza maybe an hour before they closed, When I got it, it was warm. The driver didn’t want to get out the car and deliver it to me then it was the wrong Order. When I called back, I was told I was getting my right order in the pizza I receive was free. But no one ever showed up. They didn’t pick up the phone and when they did, they were rude. I did not get my right order nor did I get a Refund. I don’t recommend this place to anybody.

Their pizza is trash. The delivery guy didn’t even bring enough change. The food is cold and the cheese looks like a lunchable for elementary school children. Worst $32 I got robbed for 🙁

We were staying at the hotel next door and decided to grab a slice even though the ratings are extremely low. We ordered 2 slices and 3 bottles of water. While waiting for the slices they were preparing other orders. I watched the worker drop half an order of grilled chicken breast on the ground pick it up with his barehand and put it back on the grill. Then add the floor chicken to a grilled chicken sandwhich.
We then questioned what he just did and he tried to say he didn’t do that. Then we asked for our money back, and without hesitation the employee who had just plated floor chicken gave us our money back. But before we could leave another guy came from the back and tried to tell us it doesn’t matter that the floor chicken was for him so if wants he can do it.
I then asked why would he put it in a to go container and he said no he didn’t he put the chicken in the garbage.
I would definitely avoid this establishment unless you like eating FLOOR FOOD!!!
