Pizzas made fresh, vibe was cool, and location ideal if you’re on campus. But the flavor itself was super mid. Just tasted like a bunch of everything and didn’t have anything to write home about. Pizza crust was soggy in the middle and everything just slid off. Glad I tried this place but definitely down to try somewhere else out first.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I was really disappointed with my recent order from Pizza Brutta. I got a pizza bianca with prosciutto and arugula, and while I never expect a dish to look exactly like the menu photo, mine came with barely any prosciutto or arugula at all.
On top of that, the crust was overdone, burnt and very hard, which really took away from the Neapolitan-style experience I was looking forward to. I was genuinely excited to try this place because I love Neapolitan pizza, but this ended up being a letdown.
Maybe it was just a busy day, but being busy isn’t an excuse for letting the quality slip this much. This experience definitely wasn’t what I hoped for.

Liked their freash clay-oven made pizza. Ordered Nostrano (with sausage and basil). Roasted Tomato tasted very fresh. Crust was soft, had to use fork . Price range was good one full size pizza was for 15$. Going back soon to try some other pizza. Booth sitting and table sittinga are available. Parking is bit problematic, gotta find road side parking near by.

Ordered the garlic cheese bread, Margherita with bufala and a Margherita with bufala & prosciutto.
The garlic cheese bread was fantastic! Fresh thin sliced garlic pieces…crusty thin crust….wow.
Both of the Margherita pizzas were good but the crust was a bit soggy. Could not just pick up a piece and eat it as it was like a limp noodle.
Staff was ok & they were all friendly. All tables were full with guests, but there were 4 tables that needed to be bussed.

One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had — easily top 3. Fresh ingredients, incredible flavor, and amazingly affordable. I came here 10 years ago and it still tastes just as great. The interior is simple and unchanged, and it doesn’t need to be — the food speaks for itself. A true Madison gem!

This is hands down my favorite pizza place so far in Madison. The brick oven pizza reminds me of my favorite pizza place in my hometown from Anchorage, AK didnt think id find a place with the same ascetic and taste. My favorite are the white sauce pizzas but they have some excellent red sauce ones too. Need to definitely try more of the menu though! Very excited to go on that adventure when I can.

I went to Pizza Brutta on a friday night for the first time and the atmosphere was electric and the pizza was amazing. While it was busy, the storefront was full of life. You can see the pizzas being made and fired and all the workers busying about. Sure, I had to wait maybe 20-30 minutes for a single pizza but it was a 70 degree Friday night in March. Everyone was out.
I ordered the carbonara pizza and it was spicy and salty and the bacon was thick and the onions added needed contrast. I hate to mention this but Novanta pizza on University is a better pizza. While Pizza Brutta does everything great Novanta is the best. Their crust is lighter, the sauce is more acidic and flavorful, and the cheese is fresher and more pronounced – and it is cheaper. However, Pizza Brutta is only slightly behind in all of these categories and has better toppings and more options. The pizza was less perfect and far more fun and interesting. Get something unique here and you will not be disappointed.
