While there we met the owners Bruno and Goli who were helping out behind the counter. They are the nicest people ever! So friendly and accommodating and always smiling. Their pride in their restaurant really shows in their care of the food and customers.
I had the infamous meatball sandwich and my wife had the chicken carbonara. They gave us each a slice of their pizza for free as they had a bit extra from one that just came out of the oven. The food was prepared in front of you which is always interesting to watch and the charming brick pizza oven was directly in front of us so we could watch that process as well. Pretty cool. There are a wide variety of pizzas and pastas, desserts and drinks (alcohol too!) available on the menu.
We ate at at the bar and had a wonderful conversation with the owners as they bustled about in the open cooking area. I enjoyed my meatball sandwich which had great crunchy crusty bread that held in the contents of melted cheese, red sauce and meatballs. A great choice to get when there. My wife liked her chicken carbonara and as the portion was pretty large, we were able to take some home for later. Extra yummy for me (ha ha)! The complimentary pizza slices were a hit for us as well. Napoli style with thin crust and flavorful toppings.
We found out that Goli created the restaurant’s design with the face of a woman that looks a lot like Venus in “The Birth of Venus” painting by Botticelli in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence Italy (just sayin’). Except that this logo has hair made of pasta! Good enough to eat!
Give this place a try. You’ll leave with a big smile on your faces!
Atmosphere was wonderful – in post alley but the inside seating was tight and smaller for larger groups. It was charming for the two of us.
Service was fantastic and we really enjoyed the food. Prices are in alignment with the area/Seattle. I’d come back.
Food was underwhelming
Then, for their flat bread OH MY GOD, the cheese was not even melted!!!!!!!!!!!! This was $17.
Cherry on top, a 20% fee service is included and they still ask you for tip.
If I were you I would definitely be specific about the order (could you please make sure my cheese is melted properly?).
