We ordered a pizza and a pasta marinara in their bread bowl. I thought the bread bowl added a lot of character, but it actually made the pasta somewhat cumbersome to eat. The marinara sauce was above average due to being under-seasoned, but I’m happy to add some salt and pepper than get some sauce that I don’t like.
The pizza was great, not amazing. Crust was pretty good, sauce and cheese made the pizza more than the crust did.
The best part was the customer service. My wife and I actually ordered this via Door Dash last night and our dasher never showed up with our food. When my wife told the two women what happened, they were very accommodating.
Will definitely come back based on my experience.
The sandwich is freaking awesome. The flavors are a combination I did not expect and they work great. The pizza is kind of cheaply made, but it’s drunk food. You’re not looking for quality. The issue is the meatballs and the sauce. They’re overcooked and have zero flavor.
The only real issue is my wings were undercooked. They’re spinet and pink. I’m hoping I don’t have food poisoning for my flight tomorrow. I’m biting carefully into them. I also ordered hot and they’re anything but spicy.
Overall I’d order them again mostly just because they’re open if I wanted pizza. If I wanted sandwiches it is a definite yes. Wings, I can’t judge because mine were undercooked.
Our journey took us across Reno’s best local sandwich shops, and pizza joints. Little did we know our last spot change to Pizanos would be so mind blowing.
Their meatball sub aced all our ranking factors. Good ratio of sauce/meatball/bread/cheese? Perfect. Quality of sauce and meatball? Savory, herby, moist. Amount of sandwich? It felt like we got two for the price of one. It was remarkable. Anyone looking for the perfect comfort meatball sub on a foggy day, you must visit Pizanos
