This restaurant operates with a self-service approach, thoughtfully placing everything you need in convenient locations for easy access. The ambiance was delightful and added to the overall experience. While I enjoyed my meal here, I personally prefer the nearby Yin Tang for its wider variety of menu options that suit my taste. That said, I really appreciated that this place is generous with their soup portions, unlike Yin Tang. The soup here was flavorful and satisfying!

For spice lovers, I found their level 2 spice to be comfortably manageable, but if you’re not used to spicy food, I’d recommend starting at a milder level. Overall, it’s a great spot with a few standout features!

All of the different type of carb they had like rice cake, glass noodle, ramen and more all tasted great in the Mara hong. The mushroom tasted a little strong in the broth but it is better when stir fried. I recommend level 2 for the Mara hong since it’s spicy but not too much. I also add in beef with mine but it was chewy. It’s tasted better when stir fried. I really like all the veggie options and they were generous with portion. For the stir fried dish, they asked us to at least spend $20 for it by adding in more fillings. Level 3 spice level is super spicy for the stir fried so be warn.

This restaurant is near H-Mart in Carrollton, so it is a good choice to dine in after grocery shopping.
This place is quite new and clean.
Th only difference compared to other restaurants is that the bill (including tips) is paid at the beginning.
Food is yummy. Malatang is Buffet style, and the charge based on the weight.

Instruction is you go in, grab a bowl and tongs, and fill the bowl with whatever you want. Then they will weigh it, ask if you want meat, and how you’d like your food prepared.

Spice level #2 is acceptable, unless you’d like to struggle while eating. Soup broth is strong, flavorful – I really liked it. Skewers were 99 cents each, and everything else weighed. You can dine for two with a great size bowl of mala soup. There’s dry hotpot options as well.

Sweet and sour pork was bland on the inside, too sour on the outside. I liked the crispiness. Not recommended.

Service is excellent. The lady was very sweet & asked about your allergy to food and such.

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. Malatang was pretty spicy, but it was the expected spiciness so I had no problem eating it. Overall, anyone who likes spicy food should totally go there and try some of their malatang (and other food on the menu)!!! The first photo is the malatang I ordered and the second one is called double cooked pork slices.

Their food was very clean and delicious. All the employees were very nice and friendly. I would visit here again and would recommend to others! Mala was juicy and cooked perfectly and one of my favorite was fried pork. It was very chewy and tasted like a mochi. I don’t really know how they cooked but they knew what they were doing. The taste was 5 out of 5. I was surprised because their Chinese food was better than actual Chinese restaurant. I can tell they studied very well on making food!

Been to this place a couple of times. I really love their Maratang on a cold gloomy day. If you are having it for the first time, I wouldn’t recommend any cilantro leaves into the mix and ask for the yellow pickled radish if they forgot to serve it. Spicy level 1 might be a good choice for the beginners.

Try the stir fried version instead of soup version at Pixiu! I’ve been here many times, but just recently decided to give the stir friend version a try, and it’s bomb!!

A common rookie mistake I’ve noticed is ordering too much, so be sure to tread lightly at the food bar since it’s all measured by weight.

Another key tip is to opt for the 0.5 spicy level if you like spicy but not too much. 0.5 spicy here is comparable to the heat level of Xin ramen. I’ve tried the soup hot pot before, and I loved it, but stir fry is next level good. Highly recommend.

Really good! I’m a bit of a ramen connoisseur and, while this wasn’t really ramen, it had a lot of similarities. It reminded me of a cross between regular Japanese Tonkotsu ramen but with the spiciness that you get from a lot of Korean soups and dishes. I don’t mind spicy food at all, and can handle the really spicy stuff. We originally asked for level 2 spice and the woman thankfully talked us down to level 1 because it was a bit on the spicy side.

The ingredients here are very fresh, which I really appreciated — especially the quality of the meats and veggies. I also liked how they charge different prices for meat and vegetables, which feels fair and flexible depending on what you’re craving. That said, the soup base could use more flavor. Right now it leans heavily on spice but lacks depth or richness. The restaurant was pretty empty when I visited, so it was quiet, but it could benefit from a bit more energy or atmosphere. Overall, not bad, but a more flavorful broth would make a big difference.
