I had ordered food through the online order cause I was hearing good things about this restaurant on TikTok so i thought I would give it a try. When it can to my door I opened the bag it was horrible it looked like whoever cooked it or boxed it up just threw my food into the box. The enchilada was so greasy and merged with sauce and there was no beans and the steak ugh was on top of the enchilada and full of fat i threw it away worst experience ever

This spot might look a little old-school and it’s right by a nightclub, but it’s got serious charm. The food is amazing for the price, the service was great, and honestly it’s one of the best deals you’ll find anywhere in Arizona.

This is a hidden little restaurant that won’t disappoint. Food was good, prices were decent. Everything else was just right. Salsa and chips for the start and a many dishes to choose from. I had the chilaquiles and the hubby had the green chile plate. We will be back another day

This is really disappointing to write, but Pitic has gone downhill a lot. The food quality and service have tremendously declined over the years. This is now the second time I’ve gotten food poisoning after eating here. The first time I wasn’t sure if it was from this location, but after getting sick again, it’s clear where it came from.

What makes it hurt even more is that I grew up coming to this restaurant. My parents used to bring me here, and it was always one of my favorite places. Sadly, it’s obvious that the care, cleanliness, and attention to food quality are no longer the same.

Freshness and food safety should never be ignored, and that’s exactly what it feels like is happening now. I truly hope management takes this seriously because no one should be getting sick from a place they trust to eat at.

Cute spot. The green salsa is very tasty. The food was hot and flavorful. Rice and beans are the best. Delicious start to my morning. Thank you.

I’ve eaten here a few times. It’s gotten better each time. Beans, salsa and other hispanic dishes that mom and abuela used to make. I’m not in this area often but when I am, I do swing by here and offer friends to try out.

The food is good. It’s consistent. I would say the beans and salsas are delicious. The service was top notch. Our waitress was Betty. She was extremely professional and courteous. My favorite thing to get are the shredded beef tacos. They’re a classic choice, crispy and flavorful. This place isn’t fancy; however, you can tell Yvette the owners put in some effort to make it feel special.

Went to have lunch, and while my mother in law and I are eating our meal a see a roach walking across the table. We notified the waitress and she asked what would you like me to do, my mother in law asked to speak wuth management. She walked over and apologized and offered a $10 gift certificate, she didnt even comp our meal. My mother in law had to pay full price after observing where the roach came from we noticed the walls and vase boards were filthy! Very disappointed that we had to pay for a meal we didnt finish! Also after we lost our appetite after watching the uninvited guest walk across the table! They also didnt remove he roach they left it on the table. I had killed it with a napkin so they can see it, but no one picked it up… crazy right!

First time here even though I’m from Arizona. I’m not sure why. They are fantastic!
Red & green Carne. 3 plate Tamale, enchilada and Tostada. Fresh salsa with chips that were light and crunchy.

VERY reasonably priced Just under $30 for two people including drinks.

We will be returning soon!!

This wasn’t terrible by any means, but was a reminder/lesson that it’s usually not the best idea to pick a place based on the Google description. My chum and I came here right off a plane from the nearby airport (literally a two-minute drive from the rental car garage) because we were pretty hungry, had a long drive ahead of us, and a quick perusal of the Google Maps of the nearby vicinity identified this as “award-winning Mexican.” Call me skeptical.

I don’t know Phoenix well but I don’t get the impression this neighborhood is the best (though in its defense, I’m hard-pressed to think of too many areas near airports that are). It was actually a little difficult to locate Pitic and its entrance because it has two separate businesses – the darkest bar I’ve ever walked inside of and a regular sit-down restaurant – and only the bar has any signage identifying itself. One of the employees at the bar immediately realized we were in the wrong place and nobly pointed us in the right direction. Both sections have bars covering the windows as well, which I usually associate with gun stores in NJ, but it’s possible that’s just a common feature around here.

I ordered the chicken enchiladas (about $11), with beans and rice on the side (an extra $3 or $4 I think). I’ve been to my share of Mexican restaurants, and this is definitely the first time the rice and beans wasn’t automatically included as part of the meal. Interestingly, the waitress went out of her way to suggest/offer them as an add-on, so I certainly got the impression a lot of people opt for them, in which case why not make it officially part of the entrée? It’s a good thing I did though, because the one half of the enchiladas that I was able to coat with rice and beans was pretty tasty. Unfortunately, they ran out at that point and my first bite of the second half of the enchiladas was my last. They were SUPER dry and tasteless without those sides – pretty easy fix though.

Beyond the specific food issues, the service and price point were excellent. Our waitress was very, very nice, and the other female staffer came by a few times to helpfully remind us that some of our dishes were very hot. Everything came out within a couple of minutes and we both did a double-take when we saw how low the bill was.

You have a lot of options in the Phoenix area for generic Mexican. I’d probably go somewhere else where the food is a little tastier and the neighborhood a little less skuzzy.
