This small food truck is serving up big Mediterranean flavor.
The chicken shawarma, gyro, shrimp wrap, and rice bowls are all amazing, but the steak & cheese wrapped in a pita might be one of the best in the DMV.

Great options for vegetarian/non vegetarian folks. We went to the kid museum and stopped here when they opened. Quick service, friendly, and clean! I’ll definitely be back. I asked for something kid friendly and simple. Chopped chicken and cheese on a pita with fries- a win-win! Falafel was fresh and not dry. I’ll try something new next time!

If you ever get off at the Bethesda Metro Station you got to check out this food truck. Trust me, do yourself a favor and stop by Pita On The Plaza. This place is an absolute gem when it comes to Mediterranean street food. The variety on the menu is impressive. From fresh and flavorful wraps to hearty bowls and satisfying platters. Service was very quick, and the staff was super friendly, even during a busy lunch hour. Most importantly, they will remember your name if you are a daily customer. It will make you feel a part of the community.
The Chicken Kebab Bowl also the Chicken Kebab Platter it lived up to the hype!!! It’s tender, well-seasoned chicken, perfectly grilled vegetables, and the creamiest tzatziki sauce. The flavors were very balanced, and you can tell everything is made very fresh.
The DMV Wrap on a warm burrito with steak and chicken is absolutely delicious!!!! It’s super packed with flavors and you can’t stop eating it. If you love burrito, you better try it out.
Everything on the menu here you are getting, you’re in for a treat.

Come visit Bethesda to test your tastebuds because this place is absolutely a gem! It was my first time, and wow, was it amazing. I got the Protein Platter, with the chicken shawarma. I’m not a big fan of olives, but they were totally gone with this meal. The hummus had a nice touch of whole chickpeas for that extra creamy kick, the chicken shawarma was well seasoned, and the falafels were fluffy and delicious. I never had falafels, but they were getting mixed and dipped in everything on my plate; they tasted wonderful. And the sauces really made the whole dish shine. I was scraping crumbs at the end.
But it’s not just the food—the people there are amazing and really want you to enjoy phenomenal flavors. I can’t recommend it enough!

Absolutely amazing place to grab a quick lunch. The woman who took my order was incredibly nice and I could tell had built community with customers. This is clearly the spot locals go for a quality, affordable lunch. The food itself was amazing, every single item was perfectly seasoned. Wish my city had something like this near my office!

AN ABSOLUTE MUST! I was staying nearby for a conference and ended up getting lunch here all three days. The food was amazing: fresh, flavorful, made to order, and reasonably priced. The lady taking orders is fantastic and remembered me and my order after the first day. If you work nearby or are just visiting, this is a great place to get a delicious lunch.

Pita on the Plaza food was flavorful and made to order. I especially enjoyed the wrap. Portions were generous, satisfying, and presentation was on point.
Service: The staff were friendly and informative. The fast service made the experience smooth and welcoming.
Atmosphere: The ambiance is outdoors and easily identifiable. When the weather cooperates it could be a nice outdoor outing.
Overall recommend this stop for anyone looking for some good mediterranean food.

4/30/2024: I think its call the Metro Sandwich (falafel sandwich) is excellent. Pita on the Plaza was great the first time and I can now say, they are consistent. The falafel sandwich with extra hot peppers is incredible. The crowd that gathers at lunchtime is impressive and says a lot about this spot. Yum!

Right off the bat, you get good vibes from the woman taking orders at the window (I think she is one of the owners), she knows some of the customers by name and knows their orders. Though, I am not a regular (yet), she was just as friendly and welcoming.
They were busy, but the food came out quick and accurate!
We ordered hummus, side of falafel, chicken, shawarma wrap, falafel wrap and baklawa. Everything was incredible! You can tell that the ingredients are fresh and the food is made with love.
I can’t wait to come back to try the other menu items!
