⭐️⭐️ ⭐️Honest First-Time Visit Review

This was my first time trying this restaurant, and the gyro itself was really good, great flavor and no complaints about the sandwich.

The problem was the portion sizes. When the lady asked what I wanted for my side, I chose vegetables instead of fries because I was trying to be healthy. What I didn’t expect was to literally receive five pieces of vegetables. That is their actual portion — five pieces. For a meal that cost over $15 (plus tip, and no drink included), that just doesn’t feel fair or filling. If I had known the portion was that small, I would’ve chosen something else.

When I mentioned it, they gave me fries to make up for it which I appreciated but it still didn’t change the fact that their “standard portion” of vegetables is extremely small for the price.

And the statement on the box saying the meal “may make you excessively happy” was definitely a stretch. The sandwich tasted good, but the overall meal left me hungry, not excessively happy.

I would try the sandwich & the fries again, because the flavor was good, but I would probably go to another Mediterranean street-food spot where the portion sizes match the price.

The food has potential, but the portion sizes and communication need improvement. First-time customers should leave satisfied, not wondering why their side dish had fewer pieces than a kid’s snack.

I grew up in the Chicagoland area. The BEST thing about living there was the diversity and as a result, the diversity in food options. My mother introduced me to gyros when I was about 13. There was a Greek restaurant not far from where we lived. When I was 14 I could take the train to Lake Street and walk there. At 18 this was a place that I went to often. When I was coming up, there would NEVER be a piece of lettuce on a gyro! Nor would you EVER find feta cheese, cheddar cheese, liquid cheese of any kind.EVER. This nonsense started showing up when I was about mid 20’s, as this stuff is obviously cheaper than the gyro meat and used as fillers.

I was Jonesin’ for a gyro a while back, & did a quick search and found Pita Mediterranean Street Food in Smyrna. The area is really nice where it’s located. I walked in and ordered. Looking around, the place is pretty nice! There’s plenty of seating, it was clean, and the utensil dispenser is pretty cool!
The lady at the register took my order, and I took some videos while I waited.
Not gonna lie! Based on the pictures I was pretty excited (even though I knew I was gonna have to knock off that cheese and lettuce! Once I did though; there wasn’t much meat and what there was of it wasn’t much flavor. In truth the meat tasted like it was cut with some other kind of meat, and the Tzatziki sauce was just ok for me.
I didn’t look at the menu long enough to see what other sammies they sold. I’d check them out again for something other than a gyro because of location and cleanliness of the restaurant.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely amazing—delicious, fresh, and rich of flavour. I ordered their bowls, and they were absolutely amazing so fresh, filling, and mouth-watering. Every bite was full of flavor and left me completely satisfied. The place was spotless, clean and very well-maintained, which made for a comfortable dining environment.

The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall great atmosphere.

Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back!

This was my first time trying Greek food. I decided to try this place since my girlfriend loves gyro salads and has been missing her gyro place back home. We ordered a little of everything. She ordered a gyro salad, we also got a steak bowl, and tried the trio mini sandwiches and a baklava cheese cake. To me, the chicken sandwich was OK. I didn’t care for seasoning the chicken was done with, and the falafel flavor was to the worst one. However, the regular gyro sandwich was the best one out of the trio. The dessert was delicious. That was definitely 5 stars they combined two delicious flavors. I probably won’t eat here, but the atmosphere was nice and lots of places to sit.

Pita is right on point and provides fresh, tasty, and quickly made Mediterranean food (“street style”). Easily overlooked in the Strip Mall adjacent to a Kroger’s grocery store. Casual dining-in, or take out (plenty of take-outs while we were there). We are still learning about Georgia food spots, and this was a pleasant regional chain that we were happy to find.

We took advantage of the Monday $9 gyro special (normally $12.45) that came with a side. We had chicken, beef, and chicken/beef gyros. We ordered two with fries, and one with a garbanzo salad. Personally I recommend this salad over the fries. Nice garlic sauce with onion slivers. My son loves fast food and gave a two thumbs up over his empty plate.

Next time we will go on a Tuesday for the $9 falafel special!

My go to place for chicken shawarma, I don’t recall getting that little veggies but they were good.

Go here weekly. Great seasonings and always delicious. Not too expensive and you get a good amount of food! I usually go for the a pita or a wrap with chicken, although I think the wrap could be improved as it is sometimes a bit too chewy. Otherwise love this place!

This is a fantastic spot for reasonably-priced, made-to-order Mediterranean fare. All the proteins choices here can be ordered as a plate, pita, bowl, or salad. I prefer my falafels to be bright green and I’m happy to report that Pita’s version is plenty verdant with the herbs in their chickpea mixture. In my typical order, I get them as a bowl and found them to be hot and crispy. Today, I tried them in a pita wrap, which was plenty tasty but the falafels seemed to quickly lose their texture while buried under all the toppings (tomatoes, pickled radish, and – if you ordered it – the spicy sauce). That said, I believe the big benefit of the wrap is the green sauce they use in the spicy wrap. Spice babies should be warned – it doesn’t hold back any punches. My husband developed a surprising sheen of sweat after trying just a bite, but I found the slow burn to be the a perfect condiment.

From the choice of sides (rice, salad, or fries), I always go with the fries because they’re well seasoned with a fun paprika-heavy mix without going erring into the realm of oversaltedness. A surprising highlight of our meal were the triangles of pita bread that came with my husband’s gyro platter. These were warmed and well toasted on the outside, while somehow maintaining all the fluffiness on the inside. Clearly, Pita Mediterranean knows how to do their namesake flatbread right.

We’ve never had trouble with parking or seats here, both of which are aplenty. I find the service to be particularly warm and friendly, with one server even offering us a sample baklava to try after our meal.

The food was made fresh, and tasted great! I had the shawarma with a side of rice.

I came here after work to eat inside. The staff was friendly. They seem to have the option of whether or not to wear a mask. Same for the customers. Food was on par with other locations.
