Pita Gourmet was a very pleasant surprise for Cortland. The menu and the dishes themselves feel thoughtfully put together and true to the spirit of Middle Eastern cuisine, with flavors that taste fresh, balanced, and carefully prepared rather than generic.

There’s a great range of options: pita wraps and other easy-to-eat items that work perfectly for takeout, as well as full plated dishes that feel right for a proper sit-down meal. It makes the place useful for almost any occasion, from a quick bite to a more relaxed dinner.

Preparation was quick, the staff were friendly, and the overall experience left a strong impression. If I find myself in Cortland again, I’ll definitely be stopping here.

Decent place with authentic Mediterranean food cooked to order. I had the spicy chicken beast and asked for it hot, it was very good but not as hot as I would have liked. The beef kebab was cooked with onion and was decent but I wouldn’t order it again as the beef was pretty hard to chew through. The greek salad was great, fresh feta cheese, tomatoes and olives with a pit still inside. Best thing I had was the baklava, and I think this was probably the best baklava I’ve ever had! Would highly recommend it to any fan of baklava, it was definitely made in house and the Crispy crunchy filo dough was perfect and the touch of honey was not overwhelming at all, mildly sweet I’d call it. Would definitely go back, especially for the baklava.

Worst gyro ever. Very disappointed of our lunch today. I have been to pita gourmet in numerous times in the past and everything was very good but this time was the worst experience ever. It is my fiancée’s and I first time to Pita Gourmet in like 3 years and we definitely noticed the difference. We got the chicken gyro and there was barely any chicken in it (attached picture). The lentil soup was basically just lentils with TONS of pepper, the Shawarma plate was extra small, and it tasted terribly. For apps we ordered falafels and they were dry and cold. ANYTHING of what we ordered we liked. I usually do not like to be a Karen, but this were so hungry and this experience made me extra HANGRY. I left the whole gyro, and even told the server we were very dissatisfied and she did nothing to get us the manager or try to give us a discount. I’m still extra mad.

Excellent hummus and baba ganoush, by far the best in the area. Better than anything in Ithaca, also ran by a very nice family. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely awful dining experience. The spinach pie was awful and was heated in the microwave and was cold in the center. Our entrees were served warm in the middle but the pita bread was cold and stale. The chicken gyro had no flavor and was served like a wrap. When asked how the food was, we told them and they just said “sorry “ and our waitress did nothing to remedy the situation other than to offer to microwave the gyro. We also had the hummus and it had no flavor. Don’t waste your time at this restaurant. Not sure if the positive reviewers have actually had Mediterranean food in an area that knows how to make it, but this place was not it!

I ordered a chicken gyro and was so disappointed, it was mostly lettuce. The chicken was very thin and hard. The gyro barely had any flavor nor sauce. Also it came in a wrap.. which I thought a gyro was the thick pita bread. The falafel I got was very dry. I did order it to go and was a few minutes late to pick up, but still shouldn’t have been so dry.

Best Mediterranean food in CNY! I grew up on the hummus and it’s hard to find a comparison. Friendliest people that run the place and make you feel like family.

If you love authentic Lebanese food, this spot should be on your list. The stuffed grape leaves were of course amazing and the hummus delicious as usual. Very kind staff, welcoming and helpful. I also ordered the spinach pocket but I didn’t like the dough it was baked in. I was expecting Philo dough. The spinach was of course good. The dough was very cakey and heavy, just not to my personal taste. Aside from that awesome eatery with equally awesome staff!

This place was absolutely terrible. I stopped and ordered two Pitas for the road and a fatoush salad. The flavor of the iceberg overpowered the small amount of tasteless chicken and lamb.
The salad was equally terrible in a different way. It was drenched in dressing and had a pitiful amount of salad or maybe it dissolved in the dressing.
The owner should be ashamed of what they sold me.
