This is the second time we ordered from here and it will be the last. They got our order wrong twice and both times we had to call. The gyro is overstuffed, tasteless, messy and falls apart. Really just the most non Greek version of a gyro. Could probably get a better one at a halal food cart on a random street in NYC. Fries— soggy wrapped in tin foil. I would say poor packaging on all items. The hummus comes in a tiny container and is orange, bland tasting. I asked for no sauce on my gyro and when I called the restaurant I was told they were busy so they messed up the order. We took 2 bites and threw out our order. Never again.

I live in Pennsylvania and was visiting my cousin in Nutley last night, which is about an hour and a half from my house. I scouted out this restaurant in advance and asked if we could order from here since it’s clearly labeled gluten-free.
I did not feel the need to call And question the processes as if a restaurant has the audacity to clearly mark things with a GF I typically trust them.
What I ordered was clearly marked gluten-free
I have celiac disease, but I am not sensitive to cross-contamination.
An hour after eating this meal, I became violently ill vomiting in my car and going to the bathroom On the side of Route 78 and 37° weather
I am traumatized and infuriated

Fries cooked perfectly (needs seasoning), lamb/beef gyros good portion, falafels were awful. Fries & gyro both lacked FLAVOR/seasoning but palatable, falafel must be a basic frozen brand, I tossed them after eating only one. The price point is worth stopping in to decide for yourself because we all understand food is different for each individual. What I’m used to is more flavor forward but this worked for a quick bite before headed to the airport for my flight home.

My partner and I were looking for a neighborhood spot for lunch and came across Pita Bowl, which had great reviews and it did not disappoint! We both ordered the chicken gyro bowls along with the spinach basil balls. The portions were incredibly generous. So much so that we each took half of our meal home and enjoyed it again for dinner.
I had never tried spinach basil balls before. They reminded me of a croquette, crisp on the outside and full of flavor inside.
The space itself is beautifully decorated, with a warm vibe.

The food is always exceptional and the staff is very reassuring around their food safety when it comes to allergies.
I feel lucky enough to have been able to meet the owner when they first opened and they understand allergies and cross contamination well. That was years ago now, and have been safely dining with them since.
I’m very thankful to have such a delicious and safe spot so close to home.
Edit: I am since reading some reviews and am saddened to hear others experiences and hope moving forward they can remain diligent with their kitchen and working with customers with allergies to do their best to ensure our safety.

Loooove their gyro bowls!! So much so we had them cater my birthday party, every guest begged to know where the food came from with such high compliments. Catering communications were great and accommodating.

Food was just ok. Asked them not to cut my extra pita, they cut it and then wouldn’t credit my $1.50 back to my card when I called them. They wanted me to drive 20 min back to get it uncut…my food would’ve been cold so I didn’t. Unreasonable policy especially when they messed up!!! They shouldve just gave me back my money on my card! Lots of other better choices in the area for Greek.

I must say this has been my Go-To for gyro sandwiches! ‼️ My mom and I really enjoy the beef-lamb gyros.
The ambient is soothing although it’s always humid inside – wish it was cooler.
Employees are always so kind and sweet definitely will be returning in the near future

I used Pita Bowl’s food truck for a work function that had over 150 people. I have done a lot of functions with food and I have never had so many compliments then I did with their food. The food was AMAZING!!! The crew arrived early and well stocked with extra food incase we needed more. I will definitely use them again!!
