Finally tried these guys and wish we did sooner, since we live close by. Food tastes great (though I’m not an expert in Indian cuisine). Chicken breast chunks in our dishes were soft and fresh. The rice was fluffy. The curry was savory. The spices were heavy hitting. The yogurt sauce tasted fresh.

But most impressive is the portion sizes for what we paid. We left feeling pretty satisfied.

We recently visited Pista House in Reston for their Indian buffet, and unfortunately, it was a mixed experience.

The cost is quite high — about $28 per person for the buffet. For that price, we expected better service and hospitality.

The food itself was fine. The chicken tikka appetizer was flavorful, and the chicken biryani was very well made. The saag paneer tasted good too. And I must say, the double ka meetha dessert was absolutely awesome — definitely the highlight of the meal.

However, the service really ruined the experience for us. Even though it’s a buffet, many items were being served by staff, and the server attending our table had a very unpleasant attitude. She was giving only one small piece of chicken or snacks at a time, dropping food on the table and even onto other plates as if she was irritated.

When we politely asked if the plates could be changed due to food being spilled, she refused and said she couldn’t do it.

There was also no proactive offer for refills, and portions felt unnecessarily restricted. On top of that, they automatically add 22% gratuity for groups of 6+, which feels unreasonable given the level of service we received.

Overall, good food but poor service and high pricing made this a disappointing experience.
Unfortunately, we won’t be coming back.

The food was above average Indian in the area, waitress was very friendly and attentive. Food portion is generous and price is more than reasonable, interior is clean and pleasantly quiet. We will definitely go back when we crave for Indian food.

Before entering the restaurant, keep these three things in mind:

1) Have an antacid.
2) Have a nausea medicine.
3) Have a mask.

The service is incredibly slow, and it’s a nightmare for North, East, and West Indian customers.

They had three curries, but he gave them one spoon at a time. The paneer fitters were oily and made of vegetables, and the cutlet was dry. The biryani had large pieces of tomato and potatoes.

Note: I also noticed that the head of the tomato was served, which is a sign of poor food quality.

Trust me! Please avoid this restaurant at any cost

The customer service is amazing. I went there with my husband and brother in-law. I had chicken dosa, samosas, butter chicken, garlic naan and more. Everything was fresh and so so good. The place is beautiful. This my second time and I’m so grateful. They truly treat you like a VIP customer.

Pista House is easily one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve tried in the entire US. The haleem is a must-try — rich, savory, and packed with meaty goodness, elevated by a perfect touch of ghee. We ordered the naan and goat shahi korma, both of which were absolutely delicious. But the real standout was the goat sukha — hands down the best I’ve had anywhere in the US. Every bite was bursting with flavor. This meal ended up being the highlight of our trip. I wholeheartedly recommend Pista House — an unforgettable dining experience!

The best indian restaurant i have tried. Normally i am very specific about how indian food tastes and getting that authentic food over here is very difficult as you all know. But honestly i loved the experience and the waiters were soo friendly even the owner. The food was super fresh and super tasty. Maybe leave out the mutton starters but definitely take the mutton biriyani option instead of chicken in buffet. Appetizers were really good. But the highlight was bhaingan ka bharta and paneer butter masala with butter naan ( best one ) . Definitely will visit again !!

Food was good
Update: worst food in recent times. We have ordered some chicken appetizer and it had foul smell and we returned. Also same with a chicken fried piece biryani. This is worst not less than anything else. There was no chicken haleem and with the mutton haleem, guess what, no standards worst taste, no proper salt. No ghee, not hot. What not, I don’t recommend anyone to visit this for dining nor neither I. Sorry but I have to change my 3 start to 2 start in all aspects.

We traveled all the way from Maryland to try the haleem, but it was disappointing and not worth the price. The taste was bland, lacking spices and authentic flavor, and the quality did not meet our expectations. It was nothing like the haleem from Hyderabad’s Pista House, despite being sold under the same name. Unfortunately, it felt like they were just using the brand without delivering the same experience. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
