I’m excited to share my lunch experience at Pista House today. I ordered the Apollo Fish and Haleem, and both dishes were outstanding.

The Apollo Fish was incredibly fresh, juicy, and packed with flavor. It truly stands out as one of the best in town, with a unique and memorable taste.

The Haleem absolutely lived up to its reputation. Just as I had heard, it remains one of the best in town, maintaining its quality and rich flavor.

Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience. I highly recommend giving it a try — you won’t be disappointed!

I recently visited Pista House and tried their goat haleem and apricot delight.
The goat haleem was absolutely amazing. It had a rich, slow-cooked flavor with the perfect consistency. The meat was very tender and blended beautifully with the wheat and spices. You can really taste the traditional Hyderabadi style in it. It was flavorful, comforting, and definitely one of the best haleems I’ve had.
For dessert, we ordered the apricot delight, and it was just as impressive. The dessert was perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, with soft apricots, creamy layers, and a delicious topping. The textures and flavors came together really well, making it a great way to finish the meal.
Overall, both dishes were excellent and lived up to the reputation of Pista House. If you visit, the goat haleem and apricot delight are definitely must-try items.

We visited Pista House on Royal Lane in Irving and had a good experience. We tried the Haleem and Mutton Biryani, both of which were flavorful and well-cooked. The rice and mutton pieces were tasty. The Haleem was topped with fried onions, adding a nice touch. The interior had a Charminar theme, giving it a Hyderabad feel. While the space isn’t very large, the food and ambiance made it worthwhile. We recommend it.

I ordered Mutton Haleem and it is the worst haleem I have ever tasted. I just had 2 spoons and I felt meat is not at all fresh. It is not cooked properly and my stomach started to hurt after sometime. They should not serve food just because they are a restaurant. Please maintain some standards.

I have would given a zero star if there was one.

I recently visited Pista House in Irving, Texas with a friend. We ordered two mutton haleem and one Apollo fish as a starter.

The mutton haleem was honestly very good. It was flavorful, rich, and topped with fried onions. The texture and taste were exactly how good haleem should be. We really enjoyed it.

The issue was with the Apollo fish.

Apollo fish is supposed to be a crispy, dry starter. It normally has a light coating, fried properly so it’s crisp outside and soft inside. What we got looked more like a gravy-style fish curry. It was not crispy at all. Not even slightly. The fish inside also did not feel properly fried and the taste was strange and unpleasant.

We informed the receptionist politely. She went inside and spoke to the chef and came back saying they don’t mix any flour in it. That explanation was confusing. Without corn flour or all-purpose flour, you cannot get the proper coating and crisp texture that Apollo fish is known for. We were also told that we should have mentioned “crispy” while ordering.

That doesn’t make sense. We did not specifically ask for fried onions on the haleem, but it was served correctly because that’s how it is traditionally prepared. Apollo fish is also traditionally crispy and dry. Customers should not have to explain the basic characteristics of a standard dish and Im a professional chef who’s specialist in cooking south Indian food.

We asked if the item could be removed or replaced. Instead, we were offered a complimentary dessert. We declined and left the restaurant disappointed.

The receptionist was polite and just conveying what the kitchen told her, so this is not about her service. The problem was the response from the kitchen. Instead of acknowledging the issue or apologizing, the response felt dismissive.

We have eaten Apollo fish in many restaurants across the U.S., and this was by far the worst version we’ve had.

Worst food experience.

We ordered two mutton biryanis and haleem, and unfortunately the food quality was extremely disappointing. The taste and overall quality were far below expectations.

When we called to provide feedback, the response from the receptionist/waiter was even more disappointing. The staff spoke very unprofessionally and did not offer any proper explanation or justification.

Based on this experience, I would not recommend ordering from this place. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience.

Pista House is a decent spot if you’re craving Indian food, but it’s more of a takeout place than a sit-down experience. I tried the haleem, and while it was good, it felt overpriced for the quantity. The place itself is pretty small, and there was a long line for ordering, so be prepared to wait during peak hours.

Aside from the usual Indian dishes, they have a unique selection of desserts, which is interesting if you’re in the mood to try something different. Overall, it’s good for takeout once in a while, but not a spot I’d frequent too often.

Ordered a chilli chicken, was hot and taste was okay, the only thing is the quantity. Not worth spending $14 and sales tax of 8.25% on this quantity. Also, the tomato taste was dominating more than the chicken. The associate at the desk was nice and polite, and the environment was good.
