I ordered the samosas and the garlic naan and couldn’t be happier. They give you a brown sauce that’s kind of sweet kind of spicy and a green sauce that’s also very good. The garlic naan definitely tastes very fresh. The staff couldn’t have been nicer more helpful. Next time I come I’m definitely going to get the butter chicken. This is the first time I’ve had Indian food and the reviews are right. It’s good.

I came back the next month and ordered the butter chicken and of course the garlic naan again. It is amazing as well!

Pista Express is hands down one of the best Indian restaurants on the entire I-20 stretch! Every time I’m driving cross-country, this is one of my go-to stops. The food is always delicious, fresh, and satisfying. My favorites are the biryani, garlic naan, goat and chicken curry—perfectly seasoned, flavorful, and generous in portions.

What really makes this place stand out is not just the food, but the amazing customer service. On one occasion, I checked into my hotel very late, close to 11 p.m., and even though the restaurant closes around 9–9:30 p.m., the hotel manager, Mr. Godly, went above and beyond by holding my delivery at the door and personally handing it over to me. That kind of extra effort for customers really shows the heart behind this place.

The restaurant itself is clean, well-kept, and conveniently located inside a hotel, making it an easy and safe stop during long drives. Every visit reminds me why this is one of my favorite Indian spots in America. I only wish I had the chance to try more of their menu because everything I’ve had so far has been outstanding.

If you’re ever driving through Midland or along I-20, do yourself a favor and stop at Pista Express. Whether it’s a quick meal or a hearty dinner, you will not be disappointed—this place consistently delivers both quality food and exceptional service.

Wonderful hidden gem. Service is knowledgeable about the cuisine and everything we had was delicious. Mango lassi was sweet and thick similar to a milkshake. Chikko shake has a sweet nuttiness and more grit to it but also very good. Samosas are well seasoned, crispy and the sauces complement nicely. The chicken korma was creamy, full of flavor and perfectly cooked as was the rice. The butter chicken my partner got Indian level spice so I did not try his, but he said it was delicious, had a good spice level but they could probably go hotter and cleaned his plate. Garlic naan is strongly seasoned for you garlic lovers, I recommend it. Great experience. Wish they had a cheese or even jalapeño cheese naan. Will have to come back to try the saag and Indo-Chinese menu items.

This place rocks. The food comes out HOT and delicious. This is authentic Indian food at its finest.

I came 15 mins before they closed, the fresh dosa, sambar, and potatoes were ready in 4 and they let me eat there before they closed.

The staff are very friendly, kind, & polite.

The dosa was delicious and I’m surprised to not see more people ordering it.

10/10 recommendation for this place. Top class food quality, top class hospitality.

So glad my brother told me about this place its amazing & we been here at least 6 more times after we found out about it, there was a time we ordered to go & my fiance was like lets get 1 order & share & i said no, but then there was so much left over it was enough for another person but no big deal its so delicious i ate it next day, we always get the gongura goat curry & in the highest level of spice, and the garlic naan as well its perfect for dipping into the sauce or eating it with the goat & rice all together ♥️

The service was very slow. People who arrived after us received their food first. When we did order, both dishes were very bland. One was supposed to be Dal off the vegetarian menu, but a potato based dish in yellow curry came out instead. The Dal on the menu contains black lentils! When mentioned to the server he acted like we were dumb and explained that it was Dal and they only have one color of lentil and proceeded to mess with the spoon in the dish to try and show me I was mistaken. But upon eating it, it was definitely potato, no lentil. My boyfriend ordered chicken tiki masala and it was in a green sauce. Never seen that before! We also ordered medium spice level. We over heard the same server try to talk another table out of ordering hot spice. When the food came out, there was no spice, no flavor. Overall both the chicken tiki masala and supposed “dal” were vastly under seasoned. We found out when we went to pay the check that the server changed the spice level to mild. We did not request the alteration. The bill was $42 after both dishes, two cans of coke, and an order of naan. NOT WORTH THE PRICE!!!!!

Delicious food…mediocre service

My wife and I went to Pista Express for lunch. We had a bit of a hard time finding it until we realized it was actually inside a hotel. Once we got inside the hotel, we just picked a door and went in as there were no signs. We were seated in an area that looks like it also doubles as the hotel breakfast area and ordered our food.

The VEGETABLE SAMOSAS tasted fantastic. Unfortunately, the mint chutney lacked a bit of flavor but was still good. The tamarind chutney was good although I’m not a huge fan, but overall I was very pleased with our appetizer.

My wife ordered one of the CHICKEN BIRYANI dishes which tasted excellent and had a very good spice level. The spice was a bit too much for her while I thought it was perfect. She definitely enjoyed it.

I ordered the LAMB VINDALOO which was super flavorful and one of the better ones I’ve had in recent years. Spiced perfectly and the lamb was tender.

The GARLIC NAAN was also excellent and full of flavor

CONS: The service wasn’t very good and the staff needs to pay better attention. My vindaloo was brought out first without rice. I asked if it came with it and the server said yes. A few minutes later, they brought out the biryani and I asked about my rice again. I was told it was being prepared. Nearly 10 minutes go by and I see the server walking around looking at his phone. Finally I go up to the front, ring the bell, and asked where my rice was. He seemed surprised and a bit embarrassed that he forgot and brought it out immediately but by this time, my food was already getting cold.

Overall, it was really good with sizable portions and I would recommend coming here, but the lack of service would definitely steer people away from ever coming back

The food was so good. Don’t even think of ordering mild spice, you will be corrected (in the best way). Don’t be confused because it is in a hotel lobby.
