Had my birthday dinner here yesterday and I was pleased with the customer service and food. The waitress was awesome and on point. Food was excellent, steak was cooked perfectly. Atmosphere was great and overall a excellent place for any occasion!

I am not over stepping when I tell you that the food in Monterey CA while sitting on the pier over seeing the Pacific Ocean couldn’t on its best day even shine a light to what this incredible restaurant is doing.

Grilled Halibut and Salmon were superb. Big fan of the Sweet Potato Hash, too. The server was curt, even rude at times…seemed visibly annoyed if someone took longer to order than he thought they should. He didn’t ask if we wanted anything else, but just brought the check. We had wanted dessert, but decided to go elsewhere. The atmosphere was festive…kind of like farmhouse-chic/industrial/nautical.

We were staying in Fresno to drive to Sequoia National Park and picked this restaurant based off of Google reviews. So glad we did. It’s located in a nice shopping center so you can pick up groceries or do a little shopping in the area too.

A nice but not a great meal. Services was excellent. Calamari appetizer was standard. My partner had the special with a fried rice that was amazing – the reason I am giving 4 stars. My dish on the other hand had a burnt inedible artichoke, salty potatoes along side some nice scallops. Cocktails were very good.

I had heard great things about this restaurant. We had to make a reservation a week in advance to eat here. We were disappointed in the food. It could be that we lived in the New Orleans area for many years and are used to flavorful food. We got the blackened shrimp tacos, spicy fish sandwich, the stuffed cheese bread and my son got the fried fish, shrimp and chips. The blackened shrimp tacos- the tortillas were homemade so that was great, but they loaded it so full of slaw and other stuff that I could barely taste the shrimp. Not great. The spicy sandwich was just okay. The bread was soggy. The fried fish and shrimp was so covered with thick batter that it took away from the actual fish and shrimp. The garlic fries were okay but too stringy. The lemon cheesecake was good and the peanut butter pie was good. We probably won’t go back because we didn’t like the food. The service was great. Very attentive waitress. Overall it was an okay experience but the price was so high and the food wasn’t worth it.

Pismo’s Coastal Grill is my go-to spot whenever I have a craving for their delectable garlic butter round sourdough bread, which happens to be my absolute favorite item on their menu. A close second is the Santa Maria Steak, both of which keep me coming back to this restaurant. Despite the occasional wait, which can extend up to 70 minutes, the mouthwatering appeal of these two dishes makes it all worth it. However, I would recommend that the staff improves their fairness in quoting accurate wait times to entering customers. On one occasion, I arrived at 6:05 pm and was informed of a 30-minute wait, but ended up waiting for nearly 60 minutes. It was only after approaching the front desk again that I was corrected and informed that my actual wait time was 60 minutes, not 30 minutes. This incident, coupled with witnessing others being seated ahead of me, understandably left me disappointed.
