Chris made us feel like family immediately and went above and beyond to show us his attention to detail. AND THE FOOD?! The flavors, the quality, the options – – all of it is beyond what we could’ve hoped for. Throughout the entire process, Chris and team helped us decide on our final menu, create custom cocktails, provided the linen, glassware, cutlery, plates, and really helped guide us to make the right choices for our big day.
Come wedding day, and Chris and team KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK! Not only were we so happy, but all of our guests were raving about the delicious appetizers, the custom cocktails, the mouthwatering entrees, and most of all: the exceptional service. Everyone on the team, including servers and bartenders, treated us and our guests with so much respect and professionalism, and Chris continued showing his attention to detail and blew everyone away. (We even managed to pull him in on the dance floor which might be one of the wedding highlights!) All this to say, if you need a restaurant to cater your wedding or event: book Pisces Rising right now (and ask for Chris) and thank us later!
Thank you Chris and thank you Pisces Rising for being apart of the best day of our lives. We can’t wait to visit for our anniversaries and maybe force Chris to dance with us at the restaurant!
Cheyenne was our server. She was awesome!!! She was super busy but she stayed on top of things pretty well. We lingered for a while after dinner and had a few extra drinks because we had family in from out-of-town and we were having such a good time.
I really enjoyed the brisket and biscuit and my husband really liked the shrimp and grits. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals.
This is a great place to sit and watch the sunset over Lake Dora, and I’m glad my Iowa family got a chance to experience our Florida “winter” weather.
The restaurant looks like it used to be a large house or inn, and it sits up on the side of a hill overlooking the small Mount Dora Yacht Club and beautiful Lake Dora. It has a large wood deck with tables outside, an outside bar that seats about 25, and an inside elevated bar that seats about 20, and large inside dining room with about 20 tables. We were seated in a back corner below the bar, but still had a decent view of the lake.
Our server was very professional, polite and prompt. My wife had the Wedge Salad and I had the Seafood Paella (a specialty here) and both of our meals were delicious.
If you are visiting Mount Dora, Tavares, or Leesburg, this place is one of the top restaurants in the area and definitely worth a visit to for casual, but upscale dining. I would definitely recommend you make a reservation, particularly if you are planning to dine here anytime during the busy fall and winter months when tourists and snowbirds abound. We were there in mid-August and it was still quite busy with local residents by the time we finished dinner at 7:30 pm. It certainly has the best water view of any other restaurant in Mount Dora.
