Somebody said This place, Angelo’s and some other spots are the same family with different names so i had to see for myself. Im a regular at Angelo’s and i can confirm this is absolutely true. Now that i know its like 2 Angelo’s in the area. Only one way to eat St. Louis style pizza…from the crust in!!!!!
I get the LG supreme pizza and a order of hot wing about twice a month. I can usually make two to three meals out of that order alone, so it justifies the price. My only complaint is with the wings they tend to be smaller and cooked a little too well done for my taste, but the sauce is good so I call it a wash. I have asked for the wings to be cooked a little less but it’s never worked out. With that said, I cannot in STL find a place that has good STL style pizza and wings as good as Pirrone’s Florirssant.
The restaurant dining room is a little dated and can be a little dark. So it’s not the most welcoming environment.
The wait staff is friendly and attentive so I can’t really complain.
The restaurant wasn’t busy—only 2 small tables and one larger group that left as we went to sit down —yet the two servers nor the host on duty stopped at our table, offered drinks, plates, or even made eye contact. Other tables received normal service while we were completely ignored. We eventually asked the sweet employee at the pickup window for water and napkins, and she was the only person who helped us the entire time.
Thankfully the food was good but the service was extremely disappointing; aside from the carryout window staff. I have been to this location many times over the years and a handful of times at the St. Peters location. I expected a lot better from this family-owned pizzeria. This felt like an avoidable customer-service miss.
I ordered carry out so I really can’t speak on the atmosphere. However, the pizza was a big letdown. Now, don’t get me wrong, there was potential to be good.
The biggest problem honestly was that my pizza was very salty. So salty, we couldn’t finish it. I ordered meat lovers.
In addition, in the middle of my pizza, the toppings were sparce.
The edges of the crust were very brown and overcooked.
On a positive note, it was hot and fresh and prepared in the time frame that they promised.
Based on reviews and word of mouth, I’ve heard it was good. Maybe I caught them on a bad day because mine was not.
