Second visit:
Somebody said This place, Angelo’s and some other spots are the same family with different names so i had to see for myself. Im a regular at Angelo’s and i can confirm this is absolutely true. Now that i know its like 2 Angelo’s in the area. Only one way to eat St. Louis style pizza…from the crust in!!!!!

If you are going to try St Louis style pizza then you have to try Pirone’s. PROVEL Cheese! Provel is a delicious. St. Louis favorite! The pizza is one of best in town and they always have lots of great options, hot and fresh I only ordered a cheese pizza that’s what I was there for. First of three spots on schedule. This is one locals favorite pizza spots in STL. Awesome service! 100% recommend!

I love Pirrone’s pizza! I’ll be honest I have not tried anything else on the menu besides the wings. The pizza is a a classic STL style pizza with provel cheese, the crust is thin but not cracker thin like some chains restaurants in the area.
I get the LG supreme pizza and a order of hot wing about twice a month. I can usually make two to three meals out of that order alone, so it justifies the price. My only complaint is with the wings they tend to be smaller and cooked a little too well done for my taste, but the sauce is good so I call it a wash. I have asked for the wings to be cooked a little less but it’s never worked out. With that said, I cannot in STL find a place that has good STL style pizza and wings as good as Pirrone’s Florirssant.
The restaurant dining room is a little dated and can be a little dark. So it’s not the most welcoming environment.
The wait staff is friendly and attentive so I can’t really complain.

Got takeout to try St. Louis style pizza and the fried ravioli – when in Rome! Also enjoyed a few other of their italian entrees and a delicious banana pudding cheesecake.

Pirrone’s-Florissant is still going strong as a neighborhood Italian restaurant business, with loyal clientele who enjoy the wide variety of traditional menu items. The dining spaces are dated to the original opening in 1980, but still provide comfortable accommodations. The post-COVID era sign at their check-in desk remains in place to anticipate service delays due to hiring challenges; the # of table visits during our party-of-two visit were noticeably reduced, but we were pleased with the timeliness of ordering & final check delivery to our table. Our weekday lunch was satisfying, with generous portions of tasty food (half order of Fettuccini Alfredo, housemade Italian Sausage Sandwich with marinara & cheese). We will continue to include Pirrone’s in our rotation of North STL County lunch spots.

We placed a to-go order but arrived earlier than expected and asked if we could sit and eat inside. The restaurant area was not busy, it was 7:30 pm, and the place looked so cute and cozy decorated for Christmas. The host seemed confused, left to check, and came back saying it was fine but we would need to pick up our pizza from the takeout window. That wasn’t an issue, but once we were seated, we didn’t receive any follow-up from the waitstaff at all—no drink offer, no check-in, nothing.

The restaurant wasn’t busy—only 2 small tables and one larger group that left as we went to sit down —yet the two servers nor the host on duty stopped at our table, offered drinks, plates, or even made eye contact. Other tables received normal service while we were completely ignored. We eventually asked the sweet employee at the pickup window for water and napkins, and she was the only person who helped us the entire time.

Thankfully the food was good but the service was extremely disappointing; aside from the carryout window staff. I have been to this location many times over the years and a handful of times at the St. Peters location. I expected a lot better from this family-owned pizzeria. This felt like an avoidable customer-service miss.

The food here is always good. The dining area seems a little out of date but who really cares. We usually get take out which is always packed well and generous portions. Some faves include the salad with house dressing and baked lasagna.

This was my first time at this establishment. The outside signage was minimal, and I wondered if I was at the right place. I went in, and it looks much better inside. I ordered a pizza and salad to go. It was a little pricey, but oh, was it delicious!!! I ordered a sausage and bacon pizza. I loved it! The chef salad was good, too. I will definitely be back!

I really enjoy Saint Louis style pizza. I was pretty excited to try Pirrone’s Pizza.
I ordered carry out so I really can’t speak on the atmosphere. However, the pizza was a big letdown. Now, don’t get me wrong, there was potential to be good.
The biggest problem honestly was that my pizza was very salty. So salty, we couldn’t finish it. I ordered meat lovers.
In addition, in the middle of my pizza, the toppings were sparce.
The edges of the crust were very brown and overcooked.
On a positive note, it was hot and fresh and prepared in the time frame that they promised.
Based on reviews and word of mouth, I’ve heard it was good. Maybe I caught them on a bad day because mine was not.

Pizza good enough to convert an out-of-towner into liking STL style pizza! Staff was nice, food was quick, pizza was hot and tasty! Top STL pizza, easily one of our favorites right up with Faracci’s! Absolutely would recommend if you want to try St Louis style other than IMO’s.
