Heavenly. Simply heavenly. You can watch the piroshki dough being worked, see them in the oven. The borsch is hearty with vegetables, perfectly seasoned. Wide variety of piroshki fillings to choose from.

I love this place! Although the space is small (don’t expect to sit down and eat a meal there), it’s my favorite place to drop into when I’m near that section of Madison. The piroshki transport well, reheat well, and are perfectly good even at room temperature. I particularly appreciate that there are several vegetarian options to choose from, and I don’t feel at all like I’m getting a “lesser” option. A great place to try if you want something quick, hearty, and no-fuss.

Amazing bakery! Piroshki Bakery is hands down one of the best spots in town for fresh pastries and cakes. Their piroshki are always baked to perfection — soft, golden, and packed with delicious fillings. You can really taste the homemade quality and care in every bite.
And their cakes are just as impressive — light, moist, and beautifully decorated. Whether it’s a slice of their creamy layered cake or something fruity and refreshing, everything tastes fresh and not overly sweet.
The staff are always kind and welcoming, and the whole bakery has that cozy, comforting smell that makes you want to try everything. If you love authentic flavors and quality desserts, Piroshki Bakery is a must-try

I just returned to Seattle and realized this was the original Piroshki shop I used to frequent on 3rd. They don’t have much of a dining area at this location, but the food is consistently the same. I’ve always loved their chicken pelmeni with a side of their broth
However, I think they have changed how they serve their pelmeni’s now. It’s places in a white box with sour cream, but sadly no broth. The chicken pelmeni is still the same consistency of savory and juicy texture.

I visited Piroshki on a Friday morning looking forward to some Russian food. The store lives up to their name with a large selection of piroshki, but they also have a large selection of cakes and pastries as well. The smoked salmon and beef and cabbage piroshki were delicious. Probably some of the best I’ve ever had. The smoked salmon piroshki was especially memorable because of it’s great balance of smoked salmon and cream cheese and how it wasn’t salty. Most smoked salmon piroshki I have had have been very salty. I also ordered the Kiev cake, Prague cake, strudel, and apple cake. Each were delicious in their own ways. I am looking forward to returning when I am up on First Hill. I meant to order borscht and hope to get some next time I visit.
