My Grandma was craving Fish and Chips, wasn’t sure of any places near by that was “fast food”. Pirate’s Fish and Chips came up on my search!

Fish was crispy but had a sub par taste/seasoning. The “chips” were also just sub par (really had no flavor/seasoning). Also note: This place is **CASH ONLY**

I asked for sauce such as Tartar/Malt Vinegar, was told there was sauce in the bag. It was their Pirate Sauce (House Sauce), it was a red sweet and tangy sauce, again just sub par! I had to find other sauce to my liking when I was home, such as making “Tartar Sauce” and using Hot Sauce to get that vinegar taste.

However, the prices are very reasonable! I would eat there again and try other things! Even get fish and chips again!

They do have parking behind the restaurant and a Drive Thru. If not, it is a walk up window type of restaurant and they do have outside “picnic” style tables.

Definitely a good spot in Chandler for fish and chips.
However, note they only take cash.
When I walked up, they were not busy and I ordered right away. I got a three-piece fish and chips combo and it was a good price. It only took a few minutes for them to prepare the food. The fish was perfectly crispy and flavorful, and it came with a good portion of fries.
So if you’re looking for a good fish and chips place, this is a good option.

Reasonable prices, solid food. Tastes just like the other fish and chips place that rhymes with “Feets” except maybe a little better. It was exactly what I was looking for.

Do not forget this place requires cash. I was in a bit of a hurry and can not give an honest rating on pirates and that is why they only get one star. Next time I am through chandler I will not forget the cash only rule. If it was posted I did not see it as it was night and there was limited light.

The shrimp was good, the fish well fried, the fries(chips) we’re lacking, Undercooked, and spongy. I asked them to double check that everything in my order was there, and even though they said it was, we were still missing extra sauces and drinks and fish that we had paid for. They also put the sauce under the fries and fish …. Which is kind of weird that we need to dig through our food to get to it.

Ordered the #2 fish shrimp and chips combo, shrimp was great l, and the fish was pretty good too. I wasn’t wild about the fries, to much like a frozen bag fry. I assume the fish and shrimp is pre breaded and frozen but still had good taste. As for the pirate sauce, it was different, not a taste I’m used to when eating fish or shrimp, but it wasn’t bad. Definitely a good little fish and chips spot! Place was extremely busy, so that’s gotta tell you something!

If you like fish and chips then this is not the place for you. Uniform square thin patties of “fish”. No lemon, no vinegar – you get the picture. Not good at all.

After many times of driving by and wanting to give this place a shot, we did. The Fish & Chips were just okay. The chips (fries) were honestly not good, extremely soggy. However, the fish itself was tasty! We also tried the fish sandwich and probably would get that again, if we were to come back. But overall, we were disappointed with our food. The best part about Pirates is the prices. Was honestly shocked compared to other places in the Valley. Probably because it’s cash only but still, nice surprise.

It’s walk up or drive in fish and chips. Order at the counter and wait for them to call your order. The food was hot and tasted good.

Wow…I can’t believe it took me so long to try this place. The food was awesome. Even though I love shrimp, I’d planned to get something cheaper because I’m on a tight budget. Their prices were very low which made me very happy! I ordered the shrimp and fries and it was awesome! The shrimp were large butterfly shrimp and tasted very fresh (I’m from San Francisco so I’m picky about fresh seafood) and they were perfectly cooked.Fries were good too. I went back a week later and ordered the same meal with onion rings. These were freshly cut, battered and fried onion rings. All of it was amazing!
