My girlfriend ordered the Grueben, and I ordered the Salmon BLT. Both sandwiches were fair, but a bit pricey. The crispy chips were rubbery and undercooked, and the fries were just okay. The service was pretty decent, though.

It was an alright place to eat, mostly for the marina location, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat there.

Also, the men’s room is in desperate need of repairs.

We didn’t eat here but we did go in for about 20 minutes after our boat rental ended to eat my birthday cake . They had a live band playing which was super cool. A good live band too! The waitress was nice and helpful getting us a clean table to use, plates, forks and a pitcher of ice water as it was super hot that day especially after being on the river for hours. When we initially walked in many of the patrons seemed surprised and starred. Which was weird energy. And one patron made a very inappropriate comment to us. But again, the waitress was super kind. She wished me happy birthday twice

What a great experience! Felt like we were down in Florida. Cobb salad was huge! So fresh and alot of attention to detail. Delicious. I ordered the Coconut Shrmp and they were off the hook. Really good. Service at tables were slow and we grabbed seats at the bar. We were promptly served. Have some extra time when dining, take in the surroundings. Remember your on island time! Thank you pirates cove for being there for us in Cincy!

I ate there Friday, 6/13. While eating my sandwich I found two mosquitos in my lettuce. I told the waiter and she apologized however no manager came over and my bill wasn’t reduced from the other items I ordered. Since I found two bugs in my food, I figured it would be a big deal but it wasn’t. The place and waitress were nice however. Overall, just make sure to check your food if you go!!!

The mixed reviews on this place are on point.

We got the calamari, chicken wings, grouper fingers, and cheeseburgers.

The calamari and chicken wings are super greasy. And yes, the wings are breaded pretty thick, more than the usual.

The grouper fingers were light and flaky. And a bit greasy. I do recommend this dish.

My kids got the cheeseburgers. They liked them, but if I were going out for cheeseburgers this would not be my pick.

Service. It was a little slow. Our waitress forgot my salad and my wife’s water. I was overcharged for my margarita- it was supposed to be $4 margarita night. Waitress seemed disinterested in general.

My recommendation- go here for drinks before dinner or after, and enjoy the atmosphere and live music. Skip the food and don’t expect great service.

To Whom It May Concern,

We visited your establishment on 9/1/25. In a restaurant that is seat-yourself, there were no clean tables available when we arrived. It took 20 minutes before someone came over to provide menus and take our drink order.

After placing our food order, we waited nearly an hour and a half before receiving our meals. The bread on one of the sandwiches was burnt, the fries were only lukewarm, and the rest of the food was warm at best. Since we were hungry—and based on our experience that evening—we assumed that A) our waitress wouldn’t return for another 15 minutes (which proved correct), and B) it might take an additional 30 minutes before new food would arrive if we sent it back. Because of this, we chose to eat the meals as served.

When we received our bill, I was surprised to see the total come to nearly $90 before tip for four alcoholic beverages, one non-alcoholic drink, and entrées averaging $16 each. Upon reviewing the menu, I noticed that no prices were listed for the drinks. This leaves me questioning where the additional $40 on our bill came from. Were the drinks really $10 each?

I would appreciate clarification and an explanation regarding the pricing and overall experience.

Since I can’t submit this on their website.

Nice spot right on the water, in a marina. Tropical theme even having sand around the bar area! Service was friendly but slow. Our food took awhile and was served warm, but not hot which was unfortunate because everything tasted really good! We just wish it was hotter. My reuben was HUGE and had a ton of meat on it. We came on Saturday for lunch and they had live music which was a nice touch.

Pirate’s Cove Tropical Bar & Grill has been seasonally operating for 24 years on the Ohio River at the Four Seasons Marina. They are closed now for the season, but towards the very end of the summer my family and I stopped in for our first dining experience.

There is no inside dining here, but nearly every seat has a roof overhead. The open air allows for you to view the yachts coming and going in the marina. There is a large bar and plenty of tables around the outskirts of the large space. A live band was playing during our visit near a sandy area that adds even more tropical island ambiance.

For lunch I decided on the Cuban Classic with roasted pork loin topped with cheddar jack, peppers, and onions served hot pressed on Cuban style bread ($14.50). I also subbed in onion rings for $2 extra. The pork loin was well cooked and thick sliced. Aside from the bread this is not an authentic Cuban sandwich, but it was actually really good.

Overall the prices are slightly higher than normal, but the views are hard to beat. Plus the quality of the food was great and there are plenty of choices on the extensive menu. We will likely be back again next summer.

The Ambiance of this place was great. I mean it’s in the middle of a marina on the water. It had a tiki bar decor. I didn’t try the food although it seemed to have a surprisingly good menu with lots of choices. Went with a group and everyone enjoyed the music. Live band, great View, Outdoors. My friend did have the egg rolls and she said they were really good. There was a nice sized bar and tables along each side with a view of the water and boats. A fun place!
