Amazing location and great view. The building is in need of a refresh, but it is historical and I get that. Loved the two tier round view of the building overlooking the inlet. The staff were nice. The food was good. We had chicken club and the burger, each came with 2 sides, but we were upcharged for the salad (not noted on menu). If I was in the area, I’d go again.

We can’t say enough about the excellent food and the excellent service by Anke. I didn’t get any pictures of the food because we were hungry and didn’t wait to photograph it but it was some of the best and freshest seafood we’ve ever eaten. I had a mixed seafood plate with fried fish, fried oysters and fried shrimp, with a side of garlic green beans. My wife had the flounder ponchatrain, which was delicious also. The building is very old school architecture built in 1957 and has survived many hurricanes, where other local buildings have not. A charming spot to take your significant other

Got there right at noon and they were on a 20 minute wait. They sat us exactly 20 minutes later. Server was quick with cold drinks out of the summer heat. Excellent teamwork in a very busy restaurant. Atmosphere was nice with views of the beach. Food came out nice and hot. Great portions and was delicious. Would definitely go back.

3:30 stopped for a quick meal that overlooked the water before catching ferry back. Got the garbage can seat instead “they were seating in sections so sorry all the vacant tables overlooking the beautiful water and beach – couldn’t sit there.
Ordered gumbo and coconut shrimp. Out of BOTH. Quickly picked shrimp basket and onion rings. Onion rings tough. Blackened shrimp good.
Hunts ketchup bottle still had the seal on it, had to take top off and open it.
Won’t be back.
Only good part of the meal was the server was very nice.

This was our first time to visit even though we have lived and worked on Dauphin Island for 15 years. I honestly wish we had visited sooner. We sat at the bar and Bucky was amazing. All of the staff were very friendly, food and drinks were so, so good!!! I would highly recommend it. The prices were not ridiculous like some other restaurants in tourist areas.

I had a great sandwich here. The service was good and the view was fantastic. My friend had the fish basket and he said it was great.

Recommend making a reservation in advance for this restaurant otherwise wait times can be quite high.

I really enjoyed my food here. We started with some fried pickles which were good and a nice size portion.

I had the mahi tacos and was the best fish I had in the island. Really liked the atmosphere and appreciated the nice view during dinner.

Hands down the best restaurant within a 100 mile radius.. if there was an option for more stars I would give 10. The fish was not “fishy” and tasted like they caught it out in the bay when I placed my order “fresh”. Juicy blackened perfectly. All 4 of us got our food hot, seasoned perfectly and presentation was great! Extremely impressed and I have lived my entire life on the MS gulf coast and this beats every experience I’ve ever had! Every. Single. Entree/side/ingredient was so perfectly cooked. I could not find one thing that was less than amazing…. this is worth the hour and a half drive just to eat. We had gone to the beach that morning and decided to eat on the way home. So glad we did! And the view of the beach was so pretty and relaxing… I could easily say this is now my number 1 best experience overall

I’d like to give a little grace here on service because it was a holiday weekend and there appeared to be only two servers and a couple of young men running the food out. The restaurant covers a couple of floors and these young men were working hard running the food up and plates down. Our server wasn’t overly friendly, and we had to ask for plates for a shareable appetizer we bought. She brought paper carryout baskets, which worked fine. She was busy covering a lot of tables.
The food: really good. We had fried dill pickles for appetizer. They were brought out hot fresh out of the fryer. They were crisp – fried well. The pickle brand they use, however, is VERY salty. I love salt, but it was a lot. It is not the breading- eaten alone, not salty. It’s the pickle. The seafood platter is a very large portion. 1 piece of fish (may have been a bit heavy on the breading and I would have pulled it out of fryer a minute or two sooner, it was a bit over cooked). A nice portion of fried oysters that were fried just right, and about a half dozen shrimp that were over fried – good flavor, but cooked until chewy. The sides were good. French fries, frozen variety but fried well. Fortunately all fried items were prepared in oil that wasn’t old, burnt, or transferred any negative taste to the food. The garlic green beans are good. They are cooked to crisp tender.

I love out of the way funky places and this place definitely fits the bill. Originally a Coast Guard station this three level structure while showing its age a little makes for a great bar and grill. There’s plenty of outdoor space with the lower level opening on to a large patio and then the sand down towards the water. The middle level houses a bar and elevated seating as well as an outdoor patio. The upper level has the best view and a larger bar area. All three levels are connected with a spiral staircase. All three levels also have great views of the surrounding beach and Dune areas. Service was very good with Taylor being super friendly and doing a great job keeping the glasses filled. Service from the kitchen was quick with a different server, bringing the entrées and appetizers.

The Caesar salad topped with some black and mahi was delicious as was the blackened mahi tacos. Both presented well and were large portions I would not recommend the onion rings.

If you’re down towards Dauphine Island don’t pass this remote location up. I visited here around lunchtime and there was no problem with seating.

I’m not sure but I think it’s a public beach area. They do have a minimal dress code so be sure and bring some dry clothes for your visit. If you like out-of-the-way places, this spot is definitely for you. Fully recommend. I’ll be going back.
