I think this is the best chicken I’ve ever had. We had the bone in and chicken tenders, plus Mac salad, spicy rice, biscuit and fries. Everything was so good, and everyone was so nice. We had two people come around and ask us how we liked the food, and all the patrons were really kind too. We will 100% be back, it’s going in our regular rotation of comfort restaurants to go to.

Just how I remembered it. The chicken is finger licking good!! Pioneer chicken was our go to spot back in the day. The fries and the biscuits are also great. Yes, prices have gone up but it’s worth it.

Was looking forward to this since it’s been over 30 years since I had Pioneer Chicken.
Definitely not what it was back then.
Skin was crispy but had a burnt oil taste. Maybe because I ordered a couple hours before closing? Idk. So disappointed. Drove 25 miles.

Ordered online . The Fish is awesome.
I can only tell I wish the size of the side sauces you pay for was bigger and they also offered meals (like fish) in 6 pieces.
Other than that it was amazing fried fish I enjoyed way more than fried chicken

Every visit is better than the last!

The last truly authentic Pioneer chicken today.

The place takes you back in time with its frozen in 1980s menu and dining room.

The employees are kind and humble.

The food is oh so good the chicken strips are giant and the bone in chicken is unmatched accept to maybe Roscoes chicken n waffles.

Don’t sleep on the corn sweet and cooked to perfection

Parking is limited but well planned, so don’t give up, find, or wait for a spot as most take the orders to go.

The chicken hasn’t changed in decades. The chicken is still the BEST and awesome. Well worth the 1 hour 20 min. drive. An L.A. institution and family owned and run. Just wish they included a dipping sauce with the best tenders in town.

Hadn’t been to a Pioneer Chicken in over 40 years.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Clean dining room.
Clean restroom.
Chicken was delicious, moist, flavorful, and crispy.
Macaroni salad was good.
Mash potatoes and gravy were simple.
The biscuits are more like bread.
Will definitely be back.
