I can’t promise you what happened to me will happen to you, but I got my breakfast paid for by a total stranger!! Give it a try, maybe you will get lucky too. I really enjoyed the pile on breakfast, hash, biscuits and gravy, eggs, topped with two thick and hearty sausage patties. A bargain at $8.99 even if I had had to pay.

Went in wanting breakfast and thank goodness they were the only one who served breakfast after 11. The staff was very friendly. I wanted coffee and it was very strong with a rich bold flavor. Definitely my style. The menu is overwhelming especially for someone like me who shouldn’t have a plethora of choices. I decided on the chiliquiles w/pork. My gf decided on the juevos rancheros with a side of French toast. The chiliquiles did not disappoint. Plenty of food as well. The rancheros has a nice taste. The one thing that I never order is hash browns. Usually too crispy or dry. Well I tried them and they were seasoned perfectly and were actually home made not the frozen in box style. I messaged my mom and sister saying these tastes just like Mom’s!! Lol. Great place, next time in the area you definitely have to give Pioneer’s Cafe a try!

I found this cafe, looking for a place to get lunch. Wow! I was greeted coming in the door, even though it was real busy. Karen greeted me at the table like we were old friends; even though we had never met. The special for the day was chicken and dressing with all the fixings. Best meal I’ve had in a long time. I told Karen that after eating that meal, if the Lord called me home that day; I would go through the pearly gates with a smile on my face and a song in my heart, knowing I’ve already had a taste of Heaven.

We were driving through sulphur springs and decided to stop here for lunch. Best choice ever!! Ms. Karen was our server and she was very warm helpful funny and kind! We all had the catfish which was a very generous portion and VERY tasty! I had broccoli rice casserole and turnip greens. Great food, great service and lovely country environment. If we’re ever back in the area we will be coming back for sure! Thanks Ms Karen and pioneer cafe 🙂

Supposedly, the best chicken fried steak around! Everybody claims this is the “Best CFS they’ve ever had”! Maybe today was just a fluke, but the one I had today was lukewarm. It had been previously cooked and then tossed back in the fryer for a minute to warm it up, slapped on a plate, and smothered in gravy to try and hide the burnt edges. The homemade mashed potatoes had the sour flavor of commercial boxed potatoes. The tea tasted like water! The only two redeeming things were the fried okra and the roll. Those were good. Being Diabetic i skipped breakfast to save carbs for this meal. I have been craving a CFS for months! What a disappointment. I’ve had better at an automotive auction.

Great restaurant and atmosphere, awesome staff, and delicious food. What more could you ask for. I had the Pioneer Fries and it was hot and very delicious, so delicious in fact I went to Walmart so I could try and copy the recipe. This has become my new to-go place for food in Sulphur Springs. The only thing that threw me off is they told me to seat myself haha

This is the best fried catfish I’ve eaten! It has such a wonderful crispy batter. Fried to perfection. The homemade cut French fries were perfect too. Served with some sweet slaw and hush puppies. The waitress was very sweet and friendly. What are you waiting for? Go get some of this homemade grub!!
