Let’s start off by saying I’m not big on paying per can of soda… $2 per can, I would highly recommend getting a soda machine or something. Other than that the food was fresh and tasty. Wife had the whole fish and I had the carna asada. The red snapper looked and tasted fresh. The carna asada was decent. Onions could have been more sautéed. I prefer soft onions rather than crunchy onions. We also order the picada which was very flavorful, it was more like a sampler. The service was average, she do the best she could. I personally do not have an issue with her. Overall great place to eat and relax.

Best chicken ever. Delicious fresh food. The fried plantains were perfect. The red beans from scratch were amazing. This place is a hidden gem. The fusion menu selection intriguing. The atmosphere is very happy and friendly. Our service was attentive and very cordial. We had the sangria chicken tostones rice beans and fried plantains along with fried yuca, or Casave. The green sauce is spicy. The white sauce is garlicky and complements any dish.

First time. We enjoyed the tostones, red snapper fish special and roasted chicken. The tres leches cake was good as well. A glass of wine was pricey for a cheap brand. All was good until the receipt came back after charging my
card. Saw they added an extra glass of wine, different brand. A little shady since they had already charged my card. Low lighting and adding an extra drink to my bill without my knowledge is concerning. It was resolved after I bought it to their attention. Make sure you check the bill the second time after they charge your card. I’ll give them a pass this time.

Great and quick service. Poor fish didn’t stand a chance against me, I did ask for extra seasoning on the fish which was perfect for me personally. Also ordered a chicken empanada and it was pretty good as well, my boyfriend also liked it as well. Def will come back!

Small place and ot gets busy…for my appetizer I got empanadas (meat) they were Colombian style. I had rotisserie chicken with fries & plantains. I think the chicken was a little dry & it needs a little more flavor.

I was a regular customer, and this is the second time this week that I’ve come in. I understand that prices are going up, and I fully support that.

However, I was not aware that selecting dark meat costs an additional $1. I understood that if you don’t specifically choose dark meat or breast, you’re not charged extra. After placing my order, I realized there was an upcharge and immediately told the waitress that I didn’t mind receiving breast instead.

When the food arrived, it was dark meat and it was burnt. I didn’t say anything at the time. However, when I received the check, I saw that I was still being charged the extra $1. This is what truly upset me. The waitress explained that the owner does not allow them to change it in the system and that she would have to text the owner to address the $1 charge.

I find this unacceptable. If this is the case, it reflects very poor management. I paid the charge, but I won’t be returning. I find it disrespectful to the customer that my request was not honored and that there was no flexibility to correct such a small issue.

You have my support regarding raising prices, but the operational side leaves a lot to be desired.

We just tried Pio Pio on a whim and it was an awesome surprise! The service was fast and friendly. We were attended to right away. The Maracuja Juice tastes so fresh. The plates had the perfect amount of food and tasted authentic and delicious!

Today may have been the worst customer service experience I’ve had in recent memory. I love Pio Pio. I have eaten here dozens of times over probably at least 10 years. We were seated as soon as we walked in, and ordered our food shortly thereafter. She brought us our drinks, and then we sat at our table and watched food being served to THREE other parties who arrived to the restaurant AFTER us. I don’t know if the waitress forgot to put in our order, but every time we were able to get her to make eye contact with us, she said, “Food is coming,” in an exasperated manner. There was nothing complicated about our order, so it didn’t make sense. 40-45 minutes after we arrived, she brought us our plates, one or two plates at a time. She never apologized to us or even acknowledged that we had sat there for 40 minutes watching other people who arrived after us eat the same food we had just ordered. Waitresses and waiters are humans, and we all have bad days and we all make mistakes. What would have made this entire experience different would have been for the waitress to even acknowledge or apologize for our wait. Her indifference to us was frankly bizarre. I don’t know if it was a language barrier or what, but it wasn’t cool, and it ruined the whole experience. I eat out at least once a week, seated at a table interacting with a waiter or waitress, and this was the worst experience I can remember. The $8 salad I had was delicious, as was the $10 beans and rice. This won’t keep me from waiting here again – it’s one of my favorite restaurants – but it was disappointing. I hate leaving a negative review for a place that I actually LOVE, but this was unacceptable.
