These products are not only more delicious, better for your health, but also more sustainable for the planet and our local economy. In addition to a $25/hr starting wage, we have a quarterly distribution of profits to our team and a 5% 401k match. This has allowed us to retain staff and build a dignified work culture.

Pinyon Ventura. The other night was our first PV dining experience.
We book with Tock which charge us $10. After we checked in they refunded us.
The restaurant is in an old brick commercial space in downtown. The space really creates a nice vibe for sourdough pizza.
The employees are very nice and helpful. They put a lot of love into our experience..
We ordered MARCHERITAVILLE Pizza and bluefin tartare. We added olives, oyster mushrooms, and arugula. The quality is high and delicious..

We can’t wait to return!

Pinyon is the real deal. The menu changes around what’s fresh and in season. Daily specials are always worth checking. There is a huge emphasis on organic, high-quality ingredients sourced from local farms. Their sourdough loaves, bagels, and hearth bread are to die for. They have a rotating selection of natural wines. Everything, down to their ranch, is made in-house and or cooked fresh in their wood-fired oven.

The courtyard provides wonderful ambiance and protection from the wind.

The Ventura-only gluten-free cheesecake is bomb. Reservations may be easiest if dining at peak time at the Ventura location.

Like their sister restaurant in Ojai, Pinyon Ventura offers a tasty array of dishes, starting with their renowned wood-fired pizza. Salads and fresh farm food are featured. A great selection of natural wines and other beverages. There is a lovely enclosed courtyard space to hang out and enjoy the evening with friends and family. This is truly a find and will likely become a neighborhood gem. If you don’t have time for a sit down experience, grab a slice or a freshly baked pastry to go! We did for take home. Best pizza we’ve had on the coast…

Wow, Pinyon is worth the drive to Ojai & now…worth the WALK to Ventura!! The vibes, the food, the people everything about the place feels like we’re in Europe. Highly recommend the Crudo. Also, the sourdough pizza tastes so pure it’s unreal.

The best consistent and delicious food! You really can’t go wrong with anything here. I love to mix it up with their specials when I want to try something new. Sitting in the courtyard is a treat too. 10/10 everytime!

Not inexpensive, but a great date night! You pay first, tip included, which is so handy. Food is incredible, fresh and well thought out – a great addition to downtown Ventura.

Dinner at Pinyon did not disappoint! Every dish was full of flavor and the tastes of the quality ingredients really shone! The patio was absolutely delightful! All of the staff was very nice and the order at the counter at the beginning of your meal and then just sit back as dishes rolled out of the kitchen was a very relaxing approach! We loved it!!!!

A GEM in Downtown Ventura

As a native New Yorker, I’m blown away by the food scene and quality ingredients here in Ventura and Pinyon is truly something special. ⭐️

You can feel the love, care, and attention to detail in everything they make. I recently moved to the neighborhood and have already been back twice. It’s quickly becoming a favorite.

✨ For breakfast, the breakfast sandwich (added avocado ) was perfect — crispy, melty, and packed with flavor. And the pastries? Insane!

✨ For dinner, I ordered The Emily Alba and the New York cheesecake both were absolutely delicious.

Both visits were to-go, but I can’t wait to dine in soon and experience it all in person. Big thanks to the Pinyon team! Your passion and craft really shine through. Welcome to Ventura

Pinyon is such a welcome addition to downtown Ventura. This is the second location of the Ojai-based Pinyon family, and it brings the same intentional, high-quality feel with a Ventura twist.

They offer wood-fired pizza, a sourdough bakery, and natural wine, with two distinct experiences.
Bakery and café run from 8am–2pm.
Dinner service runs 3pm–9pm.
Open Thursday through Monday.

The entrance alone is worth mentioning. A cool, alley-style walk-up on Palm Street behind Capriccio makes it feel tucked away and special. Inside seating is cozy and limited, so I recommend making a reservation if you want to sit indoors. Otherwise, the outdoor patio has heaters and a great atmosphere. It is counter service, and gratuity is included.

Parking is easy with a free public parking lot behind the building and another across the street, which is always a plus downtown.

Food wise, everything feels thoughtful and well executed. I started with the market greens, simple, crisp, and tossed in a fresh vinaigrette. You really cannot go wrong with any of the pizzas, but the Emily Alba is my favorite for that perfect sweet and savory balance. The house-made yuzu ranch is a must.

I also loved being able to watch the pizzas come out of the wood-fired oven. The staff is knowledgeable, kind, and happy to help with recommendations.

The drink menu is just as strong, featuring minimal intervention wines, seasonal spritzes, and locally sourced beers, ciders, and meads.

Overall, Pinyon strikes the perfect balance of cozy, elevated, and approachable. A great spot for morning pastries or a relaxed dinner. Highly recommend.
