When we walked in, you could instantly feel this was a family owned and family run restaurant. Warm, authentic, proud. We were seated right away, and right after our waiter came to take our order, the manager walked over, and told us we make excellent selections and it would be the best we ever had. He was right.
The wings came out first, and this is where things got surprising. I wanted a place that offered hot wings, but I was worried they would be an afterthought. As soon as the plate hit the table, the buffalo aroma hit my soul. My sign of a good wing is when you inhale deep and it tickles your nose in such a way you cannot help but make a funny kind of noise. The kind of involuntary exhale where your body forces out a sound that resembles a lawn mower trying to start. These wings absolutely delivered.
The best part was my wife. She does not usually enjoy wings at all. She hesitated while I started eating, but since we were waiting for the rest of the food, she decided to try one. Her eyes lit up immediately and she looked at me and said These are very good.
Then came the pizza. This was the moment I had been saving my appetite for. The prosciutto pizza had the perfect crust. Thin yet structured with a light airy dough on the inside that still holds its shape. One bite and we both knew this was something special. Easily the best pizza we have ever had.
The fettuccini Alfredo was another standout. It was not the typical heavy thick style that so many places serve. It was different. More buttery with incredible flavor and chicken sliced thin and cooked perfectly. They even served it with a cup of real cheese to sprinkle on top. This ended up being the best Alfredo we have ever had.
At one point, I overheard the manager talking with a regular, and you could feel the genuine love this family has for Italy. The culture, the food, the stories behind their recipes. It felt like stepping into a piece of Italy in Scottsdale.
Every person we interacted with treated us with kindness. Before we left, I made sure to tell the manager that yes, this truly was the best pizza and the best Alfredo we have ever had.
As we walked to our car carrying a takeout box, a woman pulling in saw it, smiled, and said Best pizza ever. You know a restaurant is good when strangers in the parking lot greet you like you’ve joined a secret club.
Pino did not just serve great food. It gave us an experience worth remembering. The kind of place you immediately add to your must return list.
This wasn’t just dinner—it was a culinary moment. The chef came table-side to personally discuss our meal, offering a level of personalization I’ve never experienced before. It felt like a private chef’s table in the heart of Italy. Every dish was perfectly timed and delivered with care, thanks to a phenomenal server who seemed to read our minds.
The flavors, the atmosphere, the people—everything about this restaurant was magic. I will gladly make the 48-minute drive again and again, just to relive this experience. So happy I found this place… Pino, you have a new lifelong fan!
Nice atmosphere and outside patio area
Service is a little over the top
The dessert was the perfect ending to the whole experience. We had the banana split with bruleed bananas, the decadent tiramisu and the hazelnut cake. I am picky about my tiramisu and this one was perfect! I have nothing bad to say about this place! The only regret I have is not being able to try the whole menu DEFINITELY gube this place a try!
(Of note, the tagliatelle bolognese was made exactly as I was taught at the Cooking School of Florence.)
The food and service was amazing. Everyone we mentioned Pino to for the remainder of our stay in Phoenix had been there as a regular, knew Marco and every person recommended the restaurant. If and when we are in the area, we will be back and we will tell anyone visiting the area to eat here!
The sangria was refreshing. We ordered a burrata appetizer and a side caesar salad. My bf liked the burrata, I let him finish it cause the bread was a little too rustic for me. The bread was hard and had a hole in the middle so it was less bread more crunchy crust. The Caesar salad was good.
We each ordered pastas. I loved the pasta, the noodles were soft and the sauce was vibrant. We also ordered a tiramisu and it was very spongy.
We also got a pizza to go, that was really good.
