For over 35 Years Pinnacle Peak has been a favorite place to treat myself. It has always been a fun experience and a great steak at an awesome price. We went to the new location in Lakeside this August. Outwardly it seems like a good fit to have a cowboy steakhouse near the rodeo grounds. But the restaurant just doesn’t work. Our Wait person was great and she has been there many years. We ordered a cowgirl steak and a Cowboy steak along with mushrooms and onions. My steak was justok and my wife’s steak was tough. The seasoning was strange and almost tasted like charcoal lighter fluid? The mushrooms were ok but the onion was just a slice of onion that had been grilled a little bit (3.25). The cowboy beans had no flavor at all. The salad is not worth mentioning.
So a small and medium sized T-bone, 1 shared side of mushrooms and onions and a few draft beers was 90 bucks including the tip, Again the waitress was good and the food isn’t her fault.

So disappointed that I lost my fun steak place with great food at a good price.

Loved it. Great Place to relax and enjoy a awesome steak. The cowboy cut was immense.
could not finish it. This place is awesome after all these years. My Father used to rave about the steaks
and it has always been a San Diego Steak house favorite.
If you have not been , GO !

I really miss the old location and the old style. Formerly an almost antique rancher steakhouse, when they moved into the new location they have tried to change it into a “trendy eatery.” However, the menu is mostly the same and food is still just as great is it’s always been. It’s just more t-shirts and tattoos and less cowboy hats.

First of all you can disregard any review here listed below that references the Santee location. This new location in Lakeside is NOT like the Santee experience

They tried as best they can to make is cowboy / old west decor like the Santee one was so it kinda looks similar….I’m OK with that. However….

The food quality has really gone down. I’ve been 2x now and both times the food was below average

Last night the salad was warm and the food almost cold. The lettuce looked like they cut weeds in the parking lot. The prime rib dinner was barely warm and the bake potato the same

Dinner for 3 = $96 and we all ordered the same, Ice teas and prime rib / potato
Not for back for a 3x visit

Save yourselves….go to the Sizzler where at least the salad bar is cold

The menu has been doing some changing and updating. The new appetizer is simply a must! It’ll keep you coming back for more. I have never had a juicier steak in my entire life. Just pure melt in your mouth deliciousness. You have GOT to try this place. You wont be disappointed

p.s. dont wear a tie

No a whole lot. Before eating there my Husband and myself looked at the menu on the web site…..when we got there we were told that the site is completely wrong. We both remember the Santee restaurant and we were extremely disappointed in Lakeside.
Not having the proper menu on the web site caused us both to choose something else.
I had the Prime rib which was actually Prime fat. I’ve never paid so much for so little
I littetally had only 8 bites. My husband ordered the Sirloin. It looked like the original steak had been cut in half it was so thin.
It was so tasteless it needed steak sauce to have any flavor. I will “never” return. I’ll go to a fast food testurant first. Don’t waste your time this place is awful.
