I visited the newest location of Pinkerton’s Barbecue and was seriously impressed from start to finish.

The restaurant was spotless, efficient, and welcoming, and the line moved quickly thanks to a friendly, well-organized staff. It’s clear they’ve nailed the balance between high volume and great service.

Now for the food—absolutely amazing. The beef ribs were ginormous and insanely flavorful. The sausages and brisket were rich, smoky, and cooked to perfection. The turkey surprised me the most – super moist and packed with flavor (not an easy feat for turkey!). The sides were solid and complemented the meats well.

The only small nit: I’d love to see more BBQ sauce options besides the 2 they had (original and sweet).

Overall, this place lives up to the hype. If you’re in Houston and love BBQ, this is a must-visit. I’ll absolutely be back.

I had an outstanding meal at the new Pinkerton location today and could not have been more pleased. First of all the glazed pork ribs were outstanding so was the chicken thigh. The duck rice was delicious and I don’t think you can make French fries any better. They were as good as a fry gets. Congratulations on another successful restaurant. Outstanding!
Staff and management top notch.

Visited Pinkerton’s Barbecue while in Houston (3801 Farnham St), stopping in a few weeks after their 2026 opening at this new location. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the service was very attentive, which was evident right away. Tried a spread of their smoked meats — the brisket was smoky, tender, with just the right amount of fat and a beautiful salt-and-pepper bark. The St. Louis–style ribs, both the sweet sticky glazed and the regular, were tender and satisfying. The jalapeño cheese sausage had solid flavor and a nice snap, and the pulled pork paired perfectly with a light drizzle of their vinegar-based sauce, balancing the richness nicely. Of the sides, the collard greens were my favorite. We also had to try the Bananas Foster Pudding, their signature dessert — thick, creamy, and decadently buttery with deep sweetness. I even enjoyed a visit to the pits, where they were generous in showing me around. Overall, a great experience and absolutely worth a return visit. Saluti

It was great visiting the new location, it’s welcoming from the moment we walked in. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, which made the process easy even with so many options to choose from.
You start by selecting from a large assortment of sides, all of which looked fresh and tempting, and then you’re paired with your own personal cutter. That part alone sets this place apart. Being able to choose exactly which cuts and slices of meat you want makes the experience feel customized.
The food absolutely delivered. The brisket was full of flavor, the ribs were tender and fell right off the bone, and the beef rib was massive and unbelievably delicious. You can tell a lot of time goes into both the service and the quality of the food.

Food tastes amazing! You have quite long waiting times and the tables are not so big and comfortable. If you compare the price with the quality and taste of the food it’s definitely worth, if you compare it to the overall experience it’s not IN MY OPINION because of the waiting times and seating.

The highly acclaimed, Michelin-rated Pinkerton’s BBQ just opened its second Houston location!

Service and atmosphere:
Very good service. All staff members were very welcoming, polite and friendly. They were also food knowledgeable and advised us on our food choices.
The restaurant is big, well decorated and maintained. There is separate area for an open bar where you can order your favourite beverage.

Food:
They are known for their amazing BBQ, Pork, and links. Let’s not forget turkey.
We ordered brisket, turkey and sausage. All meats were moist and well seasoned. The sausage casing wasn’t tough which we normally discover in other BBQ places.
They have great selection of cold and warm sides. I highly recommend beef tallow fries, okra and tomato’s, as well as southern style beans.
To say the least, everything was delicious.

Pricing:
$$$ – food for two came to $71.
The meats are sold per LB and vary from $26-38. Links $6. Sandwiches cost $12-16.

I’ve been wanting to try Pinkerton’s BBQ for two years since moving to Houston, but that long line outside always turned me off . So when they opened a new location near my house, I was excited and ready ️.

I went all in and tried all the ribs:
• 1 beef rib
• 1 dry rub rib
• 1 glazed rib

I also ordered the chicken thighs (more like boneless chicken breast ‍♀️), beans, sweet potatoes, and banana pudding foster.

Let’s talk price first… $80 later — and yes, the beef rib alone was $50 ‍♀️.

Unfortunately, I didn’t like the beef rib at all. It tasted just like brisket, and since I don’t like brisket, this was a miss for me . If you love brisket though, you might actually enjoy it ‍♀️.

The dry rub rib and glazed rib were just okay — nothing bad, nothing memorable .

Now the star of the plate ⭐️:
The chicken thighs (aka boneless chicken breast) were fantastic — 10/10 Juicy, flavorful, and absolutely the best thing I ordered.

The sweet potatoes were terrible (hard pass), and the beans were… beans ‍♀️ — exactly what you’d expect.

The banana pudding foster wasn’t my favorite, but it was okay — not bad, just not something I’d crave again.

Final thoughts:
I probably won’t be going back, especially for the price , but I wouldn’t tell anyone not to go. It just wasn’t for me — and that’s okay .

If you love brisket and classic Texas BBQ, this might be your spot. If not… you might feel the same way I did .

Definitely a hit at the new location! We were surprised they’d be on their A game, being they haven’t been open that long but they were. Everything on point except the beans. I think the (glazed ribs) were the best I’ve ever eaten. We will be back for more.

Grant just gave Houston another landmark restaurant, and it’s everything this city deserves.

The brisket… still world-class.
The new pork prime rib… melts in your mouth.
New dessert lineup… literally award winning.

Texas Monthly Top 50 every cycle since 2017. Michelin Bib Gourmand. Forbes 30 Under 30. Memphis in May World Champion.

None of that matters as much as this: It just feels like the Houston we grew up in.

Come and eat it.

I made it a point to visit this restaurant because it was highly recommended as some of the best barbecue if not the best barbecue in all of Houston. The cost of my meal for myself and my wife was $118. She got one meat with two sides, and I got three meats with three sides and we shared a drink. I think $118 for what should’ve been at Best a $50 meal was a bit extreme. The trick is when you order your beef rib. It has a price listed as $35-$38 but you have to pay close attention that that price is for the pound and if you get over a pound like I did the cost can be well over $50 for a single rib. The banana pudding Foster was very disappointing. However, I really enjoyed the Texas beans. The macaroni salad was decent, but I really liked the cream spinach. The quality of the meat was fine but the beef rib was 50% fat, the quality of the chicken thighs although they were boneless, were just normal chicken thighs and we’re a bit on the dry side lacking moisture overall I’ve had my share of barbecue and I still say the best barbecue that I’ve had in the United States. Thus far would be Jim and Nick‘s BBQ in Atlanta, Georgia
