Pine State Biscuits deserves the hype. As a self proclaimed biscuit and gravy aficionado ( snob?) , I can honestly say these are some of the best I’ve had. The biscuits aren’t light and fluffy but they’re not thick and heavy either. Just right imo. The gravy has a very nice savory flavor. The sausage pieces could be bigger but that’s minor. I’m not a fan of their coffee though. But it’s okay. Maybe a half Star deduction.
Will definitely recommend.
We went on a Friday morning and had no problem getting a table. I understand it gets crowded on the weekends.

Such a great spot! I’ve been to the Pine State Bisquits in Reno but this is my first time visiting one in Oregon. As usual, the food was amazing. My chicken fried steak was super crispy and fried perfectly, however I did wish there was just a bit more gravy on it (and I wish i would have opted for sausage gravy instead of the standard mushroom gravy which, while good, isn’t quite as good as the sausage in my opinion). The Bisquits are also awesome– super fluffy and buttery! I’m excited to come back here next time I’m in the neighborhood.

This is a counter service with a Maple Street Biscuit Company vibe that doesn’t rise even to their modest level. I’ve only been once to be fair, and they were out of Chicken fried steak, so I got the biscuit biscuit with brisket and uhm.. greens…. (a big fat wedge of iceberg lettuce (ick) and brisket that was leathery/dry/and flavorless. The blue cheese dressing that covered it was watery and made the whole thing like tres leches biscuit with dry brisket and side salad. I love southern food and biscuits, but the decent biscuit could NOT rescue this mess.

Great place for quick brunch. The line here moves quickly and you get a seat within minutes unlike the other brunch places that might take an hour! We got a wedgie with ranch and built our own with fried chicken , sausage gravy and biscuit. Everything was amazing except for the amount of gravy served for a biscuit specialist, I expected slightly more gravy. Nonetheless, food and service is great

Best biscuits in Portland!

This place is a serious breakfast spot offering loaded biscuit sandwiches, hash, and build your own breakfast.

I opted for the veggie Reggie this time around because I had to find out if the veggie option was as good as the protein options, which is was.

Yet still, the apple butter and plain biscuits always are the best to me as it’s just a simple well executed meal.

The hash looked good but I prefer my potatoes extra crispy.

Good coffee too, which you will need after this hearty hefty meal.

Only place in town I know of that has real, NC style vinegar based BBQ sauce. Get the pulled pork biscuit, brought me back home. Their most popular “Reggie” was great too, I just wish they added a touch more gravy as the dish was a little dry.

They have a fantastic outdoor seating area that is heated and dog friendly, that is much appreciated. Service felt slightly cold.

Amazing place!!! I loved it!

The staff are welcoming and helpful! The menu has a variety of items. There’s something for anyone. For sure, you gotta have their biscuits. I got the McIsley which is a biscuit sandwich, it includes fried chicken, pickles, mustard, and honey!

I had no expectations when I got my food, but when I took the first bite, I was amazed by how tasty the sandwich was. The biscuit itself is perfectly done, fluffy and melts in your mouth with a unique taste to it. The honey tasted so fresh and delicious. The mustard was not your regular mustard condiment (thank God!), it was a special mustard seed sauce that tasted so good!!! Fried chicken is well done and seasoned. I also ordered a side of hash brown, which was alright.

The place has the quirky Portland vibe to it. It is a must visit for both locals and visitors.

I use to loveeee the beignets. Every time I’ve had them recently something has been wrong with them. This time they’re just raw. Last time overcooked and hard. So sad because they use to be my favorite
