They do have deals here and there. As far as I know, if you get a pizza with a soda, you get an extra pie free or something similar. The people are nice—local folks, 100 times better than chain pizza restaurants.
I finish work late, and sometimes they give me a free slice or two even though I only buy one (usually when they’re about to close). I wanted to leave a review after going there at least three times.
Prices are average, by the way. A slice is around $4, and a whole pie is about $15, which is pretty standard for pizza places in the area.
The buy one get one was unlimited!! So we also ordered 2 ny style pies for the kids, which are large and got one free as well!
The price worked out great considering the quality, quantity and authenticity. Saved about 40 bucks off the bill. You can really taste the difference in the fresh ingredients and the crust. Even with the soda and extras, it felt like an amazing value for real Italian-style pizza. Finally a place that makes a great pie.
If you’re looking for genuine Neapolitan pizza or NY style its a great deal, definitely give this place a try. I’ll be ordering again soon!
The Sicilian wasn’t the traditional square shape I usually see — it came as a rectangle — but it was cooked perfectly. The crust was crisp, the cheese was delicious, and the whole pizza had great texture and flavor.
I like that they have a points rewards system and you can order on a tablet in the restaurant or through the toast app.
We ordered pizza on Halloween. Two pies with a 2 liter soda for the price of 1 is a great deal! Unfortunately the pizza wasn’t great. Hell, it wasn’t even good. The casing wasn’t removed from the pepperoni that my wife bit into and had to pry out of her teeth, the pizza itself was not even as good as the average Domino’s slice, and this is New Jersey, at a store owned by real Italians, where you would expect it to be the absolute best pizza in the world.
I will admit that I didn’t realize that they have five types of pizza available, so maybe I just choose a crappy type from a really crummy region in Italy that I wouldn’t like to visit, but when you call to order two large pies at any place in New Jersey, you assume you’re getting New York style pizza done really well.
This was not what we got, so I’m going to give them a couple months before I try it again because they’re in walking distance from my house (so it would be great to have them be my local pizza place) and I love their restaurant and their market and everything else that they do. Hell, we had them cater our wedding! I’m hoping that they step up their game because the owner was a phenomenal pizza man when he had his pizza shop years ago, and they generally do food, especially Italian food, really well.
For the time being I’ll be avoiding the pizza and enjoying the pierogis.
Tonight after Halloween trick-or-treating, we took advantage of their buy one, get one free special, and it was incredible — unlimited BOGO! It easily fed a whole house full of hungry kids (and parents!) and everyone left happy.
Even beyond the pizza, everything on their menu hits the mark. The beef vegetable soup — which I’d usually never order from a restaurant — was flavorful and comforting. The fettuccine Alfredo was creamy and perfectly seasoned, not dry at all.
If you’re wondering whether I recommend Pine Devil Pizza… absolutely, 100% yes!
