Best dining experience I’ve had in a long time. Hiking the River Run Trail to the restaurant just made it that much better. Best Elk and Trout I’ve had. Great staff. Thanks for the great experience, we’ll be back again and again.

This is an absolute gem of a place and I highly recommend coming here for lunch in the winter! Prior reservations are recommended. You drive to King’s Cabin in Ashcroft. At the check in counter, you can check in for the sleigh ride, ski or snowshoeing passes. You are not allowed to hike. The ski/snowshoeing passes are $25 for the day. I also highly recommend getting your own gear as it would be another $25 to rent. The folks at King’s Cabin are super helpful with any questions, maps and recommendations on the best trails. I did the snowshoeing in and out, while my friends took the sleigh ride and it was tough to figure out who enjoyed more! The entire land is clothed in untouched snow (except the trails) and on a beautiful day like ours, we had a blast taking pictures and enjoying the views.

This was our second visit, the first being so memorable we looked forward to returning. This trip was a huge disappointment! The views are exquisite and that hasn’t changed! The hostess was cheerful and welcoming, but it was a downhill run from there. Food was a huge disappointment! Our waiter was new and we were glad to “break him in” but some of our party of 6 had to return their overcooked entree and some never got the dessert they ordered. Waiter spilled wine while serving, we had to ask for water refills, plates from appetizers were not replenished for bread- which we had to request and dessert orders were delivered before some had finished their entree! We had to ask for utensils to eat dessert and we were all given a spoon. Fine for those with ice cream but my Sysco cheesecake would have called for a fork in my opinion. No need to rush a dining experience of this price. Desserts were “out of the box”, I had better at home ! For the $$$ they charge they need to up their game for my return.

The Ferrari Club of America – Colorado Chapter enjoyed a wonderful drive to the Pine Creek Cookhouse followed by a brilliant lunch outside on the patio. The Autumn leaves and hillside were glorious and the food and staff were wonderful. Highly recommend this spot no matter the season or occasion.

Wonderful setting, service, and meals. Although they could not find our reservation, we were seated immediately and given great service. We both chose trout and it was delicious. People complaining about spending $$ there should realize everything is brought in fresh and the servers probably all have quite a drive to get there. We were thankful for all of it. Pine Creek Cookhouse is a special place, enjoy every minute!
