Okay Darlings!
A true taste of home-cooked Jamaican food right in the heart of Fredericksburg! Pimenta is an absolute gem. Our group was blown away by the warm and friendly staff who made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in.
The food was incredible across the board. We couldn’t get enough of the jerk shrimp, which was delicious and perfectly seasoned. Our table also raved about the oxtail, curry goat, curry chicken, and the fish—every single dish was a solid 10.
It’s clear the chefs here put so much love into their cooking. The restaurant itself is located on a lovely town street with convenient street parking, and it’s a great bonus that it’s connected to a private event space.

One of my favorite local spots. Food is always delicious and everytime we’ve dined in it’s always been a blast sitting at the bar as the cooks in the open kitchen are usually having a great time. I also appreciate sitting at the bar and watching my food being made since you don’t get to see that often anymore. The atmosphere is enjoyable. You truly can’t go wrong with anything jerk here, and the Jamaican sodas are a must.

Wow. Truly the Best Jamaican Food I’ve Ever Had it is Authentic and Full of Flavor!
As a Jamaican, I’m always a bit skeptical when trying Caribbean restaurants, but Pimenta blew me away. This is, without a doubt, the best Jamaican food I’ve eaten, even compared to some places back home.
I had the brown stew fish with rice and peas, mac and cheese, and stir-fried cabbage, and every bite was perfection. The fish was tender, flavorful, and cooked just right; the gravy alone was enough to make me want to lick the plate. The rice and peas had that perfect balance of seasoning and coconut flavor, the mac and cheese was creamy and comforting, and the cabbage was fresh with a nice little crunch.
From the moment you walk in, the aroma takes you straight to Jamaica. The food tastes like it was made with love and tradition. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere had that laid-back island vibe with good music playing in the background.
If you’re craving authentic Jamaican food, Pimenta is where you need to be. This spot is a gem, and I can’t recommend it enough. ❤️

I’ve given this place a chance multiple times but today 5/29/25 did it did me. Not all the employees but the same one who I’ve ordered with over the phone and in person always has a snobby attitude. I seen a dine-in customer ask did they have menus, a normal question by the way for a restaurant ♂️, he answered with an attitude like it was a dumb question. Lastly I ordered 2 chicken patties and 1 coco bread, he opened the register said he didn’t have the change for a $20, somewhat forced me to get a second coco bread so the money worked. Now I’ll let you take a look a what I had wen I got home.

Found this gem of a place tonight. I have never had Jamaican food before but I always wanted to try. I had a taste of the ox tail and it was delicious. I ordered the jerk chicken with Mac and cheese with rice and peas. Topped off with a pineapple mimosa. Atmosphere was very pleasant, the food reminds me of a home cooked meal. Highly recommend!

Beautiful vibrant flavors in these dishes. The sauces are perfectly balanced, every flavor stands out. Chef Wayne captured and executed a marvelous taste of Jamaica in each of these dishes. Beautifully done
It’s early evening and there’s only one or two other parties. Very friendly service and lovely atmosphere

First time eating at Pimenta and I can’t waiting to go back. Never had Jamaican food but everything we tried was excellent. We started with Beef patties and jerk wings both great starters. The wings definitely had a kick to them and you could pick from either chicken, beef or veggie patties. We ordered three different dishes, Oxtail, chicken curry and jerk chicken. All great choices with delicious sides including mac & cheese, white rice , rice and peas, french fries and plantains. Never had oxtail but I think I found a new favorite dish. Atmosphere was bright, clean and had a island vibe. Service was top notch and portions sizes were plentiful. Looking forward to trying Pimenta again in the near future.

First, I’m NOT a Jamaican food aficionado, but our experience here on Black Friday was AMAZING. A lot of the staff were out including the bartender so we were only able to order the rum punch, but it was delicious. One of the chefs waited on us and we asked him to pick our sides, and this was a good choice. The jerk shrimp was grilled PERFECTLY and had a fantastic mix of sweet and spicy. Coupled with rice and beans and the best plantains I’ve ever had, we completely cleaned the plate. The goat stew melted in your mouth with just the right amount of kick. The sides on this dish surprised me. Didn’t expect to get some of the best mac and cheese ever and stewed garbanzo along with. The staff was VERY conscious of wearing masks, handling our flatware, social distancing, and generally keeping us safe. The bathrooms were large and very clean. I can’t wait to go back and sample some of their other dishes as well as seeing what the bartender has to offer. So happy to have discovered this place and looking forward to more visits in the future.
