First time going to Pillar Rock. Wish we had gone long ago. We went to celebrate Valentines Day . What a very wonderful time we had. The service was most excellent. The Staff was wonderful and the atmosphere was marvelous. There was even live music and that was pleasing.
The food was excellent. The appetizers were Chicken Poppers, Shrimp Cocktail and Romaine Heart Capres. It was so delicious . My wife had the Top Sirloin and Lobster, I had the Filet Mignon. Both were absolutely the best that we have had, in a really long time. For dessert, we had the Strawberry Tiramisu. Never had it before, but this topped our evening. This came with a glass of Champagne.
To be honest, I made the reservation, but thought it was at a different restaurant in the area. One that we often eat at. What a surprise to me, as I was driving up. With that said, we will return on those special occasions.

I had an early dinner here (4pm) and I was the only person dining there. but still, it made me wonder if there was a food quality issue I wasn’t aware of. Anyway after ordering a Bale Breaker IPA I opted for the Chilean Sea Bass. It was delicious and I was very pleased. It came with risotto which was fried into a ball, and although I don’t like risotto, I found this one quite good! Service was excellent and very attentive.

To start off with our beer mugs were very frosty. So our beer was wonderful. Then we had the Bruschetta appetizer. That was the bomb. My GF had the Steak Frito. Well that was really bad. The meat was not tender and very chewed. Plus there was not much meat but cartilage. Needless to say that dinner was not finished. My dinner on the other hand was delicious. I had the Southern Strip, it was tender and moist. Sorry GF! Our desert was alright. Cheese cake seemed a bit old. As well as the ice cream on mine.

Late review. For the fact I was really saddened at the service offered here. I went on new years we had reservations for 2. Was sent into a corner that was suffocating, a table that wobbled, and a waitress that had no manners an was completely rude showing now interest in helping me or my now ex not once refilling our water. She had no smile the entire time we were there an it wasnt till we showed a 20$ tip to be generous that her face lit up with a smile. This is why im posting so late as not to have someone introuble. Regardless I had scallops asparagus an fried ravioli, which wasnt that amazing, the only thing that was good was the desert which was a cheesecake with a chocolate shell an a strawberry reduction. The asparagus was uncooked so much that the tip were the only part edible on them sadly.

Well it was an amazing meal kind of slow food get to us but all in all it was great food. Not bad prices but don’t go there with your date with only 50 bucks cuz you’ll probably only get a couple appetizers but with that being said I would definitely go back cuz the food was great
