Breakfast is a nightmare. I wanted the huevos rancheros. The server said they don’t do well with this dish. So, she suggested the breakfast sandwich.
I ordered a breakfast sandwich with buttered toast. It came out, no butter. I ordered the eggs over medium, it came out over well done.
The server was busy with another table who didn’t get their food. It took ten minutes to get her attention to my issue.
I sent back the half eaten egg sandwich, now cold, for a redo.
I ordered potatoes with cheese, I agreed to the upcharge. It was a failure as less than a teaspoon of cheese was on the potatoes.
They re-served the dish. The eggs were wrong. Again. I left.

Food was great. Service was even better. The ladies taking care of our table went above and beyond. Thank you Pillar Kitchen! We will be returning soon!

Let me start by saying that this was their opening day after covid 19. Let me further say that we were finally seated at 0930… They close at 1000. Caveats aside, this staff has some serious retraining before they are ready. The kitchen had run out of some ingredients and made the dishes without asking whether I or my guests wanted to order something different. To be sure, the menu was already limited, so in all likelihood I would have accepted the breakfast without those ingredients or with a substitution. But after waiting a half hour to be seated and a full fifteen minutes for the server to take our order, and with no forewarning, the answer was a firm no thank you… We left without eating. I hate wasting food, but this was unacceptable. The kitchen should have told us and we might have been more accommodating.

Our server, Victoria was fantastic! She warmly greeted us, had a contageous smile, a positive personality, seemed to enjoy what she does, and was very attentive. She even sang HBD to a guest nearby and has a great voice! Food was almost as great as the service! The oatmeal was really loaded with flavor!

This was probably one of the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant 50+ years. However they were not well staffed for the amount of people there and the front desk help and the security had to help with service. The food was great once we received it about a hour (maybe more) my husband ordered the hamburger and they dropped the top of his bun in the floor and after about 15 minutes I had to go to the kitchen myself to get a top. The staff were very nice and helpful. Being in the restaurant business I can for sure understand the situation being understaffed.

AWFUL! Went there to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. He looked and the menu and thought it sounded great. When we walked in NO ONE was there. The only staff member who sat us was the only one we saw the entire time. She was very rude! The changed their menu and only had 6 items on the menu for brunch. We had to ask several times for waters to be brought to the table. The food was either COLD or NOT COOKED AT ALL. Never going back there and going to make sure everyone in Asheville knows about this.

Go for breakfast and order the Cure and the French Toast! You will not regret it.
I typically do not eat breakfast at hotels – because I want to explore and get the full experience. Holy cow was I wrong! I ordered the Cure and the French Toast (no compote) for breakfast. The BEST fried chicken and French toast I have ever had.
The Cure is an open face battered chicken biscuit sandwich with gravy, fried green tomatoe, bacon, and sunny side up eggs. The chicken was nice a crispy with just the right amount of batter.
The French toast was made of challah bread, and had a light citrusy and vanilla note. I have never been able to perfect how to get flavor into French toast, so I have a serious appreciation for how good this French toast was!
And then to top it off, our server was by far the nicest waitress we encountered in all of Asheville (and that means a lot since we noticed almost EVERYONE was incredibly nice).

Great service by Alissa is about the only thing going for this place. Cold eggs and a really picked over breakfast buffet. Well below the breakfast standard of typical HGI I stay in.

Service is good but cannot recommend. Ordered eggs fried hard; they were gooey and runny on the inside but overcooked on the outside. The bowl of fruit on the side was meager.
