I was very impressed with this hidden gem! They opened the back room.for our large group without hesitation. Our server was on top of everything. We never had to ask for refills or extra anything. He was pleasant to chat with as well. Our food was also so good and cooked perfectly. We have already talked about stopping again next time we are in the area. Thank you for giving the parents on vacation a nice evening out together!

☆ The t-bone steak, fries, salad, cream of potato (w/bacon and jalapeno) soup, and bread were all very good.
☆ My wife’s almond trout was very good.
☆ Service by Mackenzie was extraordinarily prompt and very good (I read past reviews, if service was an issue, they have turned it around).
☆ Meal came very timely, overall we were not there more than 1.5 hrs.
• I’d only suggest Signature portion of menu is pricey (some meals are double of same goid quality down state), but not going to pull a star due to it, as we enjoyed ourselves just fine!

Restaurant was nice atomsphere, very rustic. Chairs are uncomfortable. Food was great. Wait staff was very nice. Would recommend but it is on the higher price range of restaurants

Friendly service. Very large portion sizes for the pastas. While being a steakhouse, surprisingly they do have vegetarian appetizers and a dinner entrée. The specialty coffees pack a punch.

Very good meal at a fair price. The bar side was clean, quite, and relaxing. We hung out by the fire and enjoyed dinner with our little. The staff was attentive and very accommodating with our baby specific needs!

Honestly…had dinner there, and the next night I made steak and shrimp at home with baby red potatoes and the at home dinner was better. Over priced for what we got. Steak was sub par at best, baked potato had an extremely dry inside and the skin was so tough it wasn’t edible. Their shrimp was good, I’ll give them that much. For the bill, I expected more.

Pilgrim Steakhouse was a terrific time and I would recommend it to anybody passing through Houghton. I’d describe the dress code as casual – after coming out of an Isle Royal backpacking trip and endeavoring to put on collared shirts, it was really not necessary. Our waiter, Billy, was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and just a light in the room. I ordered the prime rib, my companion had the NY strip. My prime rib was fantastic, and I would recommend it above all other dishes. My companion was jealous of me because it was as so good! If you’re getting off the trail, make this a stop!
