1. Price on menu is not what they charged;
2. Also added on 15% “service” fee;
3. Cannot prepare their own dishes correctly (see photo: missing ingredients).
Flavor is fine, nothing special or notable. But pricing is extreme (especially after they jacked it up on the bill). Not coming back.

Just heard Pike El Diamante offers pupusas (stuffed masa tortillas) and literally ran over to try them out. I’ve been craving some for a while now and they did not disappoint. I ordered two, but honestly one would’ve been enough. They are about 8 inches across, so come with an appetite! Pupusas were generously stuffed and served with fresh curtido (fermented cabbage slaw) and tomato sauce. I dragged my partner with me who ended up getting a quesadilla. He said “quesadillas are AMAZING here” multiple times. He’s a quesadilla connoisseur, so thats a big freakin deal! The quesadilla was also ginormous, maybe 12 inches across. I also ordered the horchata (milky rice drink) for nostalgia sake and it was 10 out of 10. I don’t like sweet drinks so I took a risk here and it was the perfect level of sweetness with a strong rice milk flavor – just the way I like it. Finally, all orders come with a chips and salsa appetizer. Chips were hearty and freshly fried. Salsa was smooth with a hint of spice. Plan to be back soon to try out the carne asada (marinated and grilled steak) and the saltenas (meat and veggie stuffed pastries.) We came at the odd time between lunch and dinner so the service was slow but our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The decor is pretty typical of Central American restaurants in its utilitarianism but 100% works for lunch or casual dinner.

Great family-run pan-Latin American restaurant with kind owners from Bolivia. They have a large menu that includes, Bolivian, Salvadoran, Mexican, and Peruvian dishes. There is something for everyone. I tried the cheese pupusa, a large and satisfying griddled corn flatbread filled with cheese. There was a nice balance of savory and slightly sweet notes from the cheese and corn masa – the cabbage slaw and tomato salsa provided a welcome contrast of flavors. As a main dish, I ordered the milanesa de pollo. This was a very generous portion of breaded chicken cutlet, similar to escalope or schnitzel, served over a bed of perfectly seasoned rice, thick-cut home fries, and a salad. The milanesa itself was thin, crispy, and well-seasoned. The potatoes were lightly fried so they retained a softness that I really enjoyed and it reminded me of a home-cooked meal. I also recommend asking for a side of their homemade green chili hot sauce, which goes great with the chicken or as a light dressing for the salad. I will definitely be back to try more of their menu, and I also appreciate that they are open later than most restaurants in Bethesda.
Pike El Diamante has been open for less than a year and it looks very quiet most nights. Please come out to support them and tip generously, as the food is very affordable for how generous the portions are. Highly recommended!

We just got back home from eating here and let me tell you—hidden gem for sure. I got the tacos… top-notch. The yuca frita… top-notch. My wife got the pupusas (bean and cheese)… top-notch. The plátano maduro was Costa Rican approved—I’m not Costa Rican, but my wife is, and she gave it a big thumbs up. Highly recommend this place—go give it a try!

I ordered the chicken empanadas and a cheese one a the chicken before I bit into it had a lot of juice…. Like why is it so overly juicy but then that’s not even the worst part there was an olive inside and who puts olives in empanada’s… also peas and potatoes I’ll let the peas slide but POTATOES…but anyway the cheese one was hard and dry and there was barely even cheese so I was just eating hard dry bread. I don’t know what the rest of the food taste like but the empanadas are NOT it.

Food poisoning. Lomo saltado. Update: wasn’t lomo saltado, it was pollo a la plancha. Actually delicious going down. Super wobbly table. Only customer. 8 pm. Nice of them to put a soccer game on the tv for me when asked. 100% I was there, sorry for the mix up on the order name. But I did get food poisoning from here, called at 10pm to tell them not to serve that to others, they denied it saying everything came in today, and so here I am on the Internet. *Shrug* Hope this helps others.
