The place had extremely good food waited over 45 minutes for it had to ask for our drinks to be refilled. I had to go get my own check and my own box for the food. Overall diner was very clean and pleasant. I had breaded tenderloin and my son had a cheeseburger. I would definitely recommend this place as far as the food.

Beef and noodles was the special and they were delicious!!!
The prices are reasonable and the young gal who was our server was very nice.
One big problem for us was it was pretty cold in the dining room.
This wouldn’t stop me from eating there again I’d just prefer to be comfortable when dining but this might have been a one time deal.

My family and I ordered a pick up order most of the food was fine but the pulled pork on my sandwich was cook for so long that not only was it dried out it was Burnt and hard to chew couldn’t eat and my daughters chicken strips were so dried out and the tomatoes on are salad tasted funny as well ! First time trying them and we weren’t happy with some of the food they were friendly and even called when I had ordered raspberry vignette dressing saying they were out and they were prompt and curious and got a food out in a timely manner..

Nice small town restaurant, I just missed the lunch rush so there weren’t many people in the restaurant. Ordered the rib sandwich and it was good, nothing special similar to the mc-rib meat is what comes to mind. The sides are actually what we’re really good! The broccoli salad was fresh and crisp, then the home made curly fries must have been cut when I ordered them because they were fresh as well! If I’m back in the area I’ll definitely make another stop.
Last was told if you go in for the lunch hour it can be slow if you’re in a rush, but it did look like they do carry outs.

Nice family restaurant for this small town!
We were there on a Saturday for a late lunch, and it had recently been remodeled inside.
The fish and tenderloin sandwiches were very good, and a choice of side was included.
I would definitely recommend stopping by when you are in the area!

I have NEVER had a bad experience here, but today took the cake. I’m still here waiting for my food as I write this review. My husband got the buffet and has ate and has been done. I got a hot beef sandwich and a grilled cheese and fries for one boy and mini tacos and fries for the other. We have been waiting 1hr and 15 minutes for our food. A table of 6 came in about 20 minutes AFTER us and got their food before us.
The waitress and the staff here have been extremely rude. They act like they don’t care. It’s been the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I’ve always said great things about this place, but this experience makes me never want to come back.
I’m coming back and editing my review after we just got done and are leaving…
The owner walked in and greeted and talked to the table of 6, but never once confronted us. I said something to our waitress (who never even checked on us or refilled our drinks, I had to wave her down and ask).I also waved her down TWICE to see when we were getting our food and I also pointed out to her that the table of 6 that came in AFTER us got their food before us and all I received was “I’m sorry mam.” I also said something to the other waitress that was working as well and she just brushed it off like it was no big deal. They all knew I was upset with our experience.
I’m never the kind of person to expect a free meal or a discount, but that would’ve been the right thing to do in this situation. We ended up paying full price. Being a waitress myself, I never leave a restaurant not tipping because I know we live off of tips, but I absolutely did not tip today. I give what’s deserved and none of the staff there deserved a tip. So sad and extremely frustrating.

First time here. Nice to have a close alternative to Ottumwa’s fare.
The tenderloin sandwich plate was delicious, I substituted beef gravy for the white, just my preference. Delicious, filling, and cooked just right. The mashed potatoes are food service style, smooth and buttery tasting, just like in school lunches way back in the day.
My wife had the hot beef sandwich plate, and she said it was very delicious.
From what I observed on other tables, the numerous choices available on the menu all looked really good, and you can get full bar service as well with your dinner.
The pie menu was very long, and even included key lime, but we were too stuffed to try any.
Neat, clean, tasty, and friendly. Your wallet doesn’t have to suffer, either. Definitely worth repeating the experience.

Don’t judge by the outside appearance. Food was very good and service was adequate for how busy they were (packed house). Friendly staff and customers even though they didn’t know us. Tenderloin dinner was more than I could eat and the pattie melt with sweet potato tots had my wife impressed. Hopefully we will get back there again!

Got smothered chopped steak with homemade fries add chili and cheese to go needed them to not be crispy, ended up with French fries too crispy for me to eat and the chili and cheese was c on the side which isn’t the way it’s suppose to be, only good thing was the smothered chopped steak, threw everything else away, wasn’t worth eating.
