Legit BBQ is not readily found in Minnesota. This is the real deal. The restaurant occupies a single long room, the walls lined with amusing tin signs available for purchase. It was getting busier by the time we left at noon; they also handled a lot of take-out orders. I’m glad we were there on a rainy Friday in the off-season–I can only imagine how packed this place would be in the summer!
Service was great the whole time. A single-sided big menu has most of the food offerings, but there is a separate Spam menu that can be brought out on request. My husband had a beer while I was happy they had cans of local Loon Juice cider available.
For our appetizer, we ordered a side item: fried okra. I don’t think we’ve found okra anywhere else in the state! It was perfectly cooked with a cornmeal coating, piping hot and delicious.
I had the Smokin’ BBQ Platter. I had brisket for my meat option, with coleslaw and cornbread on the side. Perfectly cooked brisket, not dry at all. I’m an avid home baker and something of a cornbread snob, and this was excellent stuff–a perfect little loaf, sweet and perfect with butter melted within it.
My husband had the Combination Platter with pulled pork and ribs. Now, he is a rib snob, having BBQed many over the years, and he declared these to be perfect (a rare thing to find in a restaurant). Not a shred of meat remained on the bone. Pulled pork was great, too, and he agreed that the cornbread was something special. He liked having pit potatoes, too, something that isn’t common.
Three kinds of BBQ sauce sat on our table in full, non-sticky squeezable containers. I tried the bourbon and loved it. My husband also tried the inferno; he can handle a lot of heat and said it wasn’t really hot to his perception, but the flavor was good.
In all, a fantastic experience here. I’d definitely come here again when passing through.

Great BBQ! I tried the combo plate and the pulled pork had a lot of flavor and the beef brisket was the best I’ve encountered! Meats are flavorful, tender, and juicy on their own and don’t need a sauce, but if you top it with a sauce you won’t be disappointed!! Their sauces are delicious and the bourbon sauce is the right combination of ingredients and not overwhelmingly bourbon like some sauces. I absolutely loved the baked beans and the coleslaw was so dang good! They’re definitely sides not to skip. And I would highly recommend ordering a side of cornbread! This is a place you want to come hungry because there is a lot of good food to order! And you can top off with some gelato that just hits the spot and completes the meal.

Great vibes as soon as you walk in. Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Cooks did an amazing job. Food and service were quick and amazing! Great food. I got 1lb of brisket, which had an amazing hint of mild smoky flavor. I tried every bbq sauce, and my favorite was the jacka**.

Fun local spot. Pulled pork is good. Several barbecue sauce options to add the flavor you want. Spam options too.

Amazing food and service! They catered for my wedding in 2024 and the food tasted as if you were at the restaurant eating it. They were easy to work with and the servers were friendly. Every time I’ve eaten there, the food and service have been great. Highly recommend!!

We eat here often but unfortunately this last time was not as usual We arrived at 6:55p and gave our order to waitress right away (as being seated). There were 4-5 tables finishing their meals and one just got served (no others waiting). We did not get our food until AFTER 7:35! We have never waited that long (ordered the same items we always order). This is a fairly expensive dinner (with tip it was over $50 for just 2 of us!) … we were told they had to fulfill take outs / doordash. You would think the soda would have at least been comped or offered a dessert or something.

We loved the baked beans, bbq, and the atmosphere! We arrived just before the lunch rush after visiting the spam museum and the place had the “pleasently quiet but occupied” sound levels.
They also offer a spam menu if you are not from the area to possibly expand on your preferences of homemade spam.

After visited Spam museum, we came here for our lunch. With no exception we tried its famous Spam fries & sweet corn puffs. Very special taste for the spam fries. The fried out crust was somehow very unique flavor and taste. I also have the Jackass Burger. Also tasty… The waitress was very helpful and friendly. Price was also reasonable….
