The food is amazing and consistent every time!!

Super welcoming space and all the sauces are gluten free which is extra awesome!

A family run locally owned place that is leaps and bounds above all other BBQ places I’ve been to in the bay!!

It’s hard to say which meat is my favorite as they are all so great!

Also the pickles are done perfect! And super reasonably priced!

Extremely grateful we could cater Pig in a Pickle for our wedding for a really good price. Mari was so kind and accommodated all of our dietary needs and guest count changes. Our guests complimented the bbq all night thru to the next day. We had the chicken, brisket, and baby back ribs with salad, Mac n cheese, roasted potatoes, and corn bread. Everyone was so full and happy, it made our wedding day even more merry.

Last night I attended a retirement party for my doctor, and it was catered by Pig in a Pickle BBQ – Corte Madera

The BBQ was amazing! I think I had it before, but I don’t remember it being this good. Their ribs were tender and perfect! The brisket was cooked to perfection, and even the sides (I had the beans and potato salad) were perfect… rare to find such a great combination, especially given the challenge of catering (having the food hot and at peak flavor off site).

Congratulations on your retirement Flash!

My pal Brosco Billy Whiteshoe’s the Tulsa Tornado lives about a mile away from the Pig in a Pickle BBQ joint, so when finished transferring that 1000 gallons of Round-Up from my holding tank into the Larkspur groundskeeper rig I was all set to hook up with the Tornado for a smack dabbity great lunch!
And… Man-O-Man did the Pig deliver! Those ribs…oh, those ribs were amazing, and that BBQ sauce was even more amazing…everything was just Spectacular! 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆

Perfect—here’s an updated casual review that includes the friendly staff, housemade sauces, and the to-go sauce urns:

Stopped by Pig in a Pickle for a quick BBQ fix and was really impressed. The pulled pork sandwich was tender and packed with flavor, and the 1/4 rack of baby back ribs was juicy and fell right off the bone. Sides didn’t disappoint—ranch-style beans were hearty, and the cornbread was warm, moist, and just the right amount of sweet. Ended on a high note with the rich and silky butterscotch pudding.

Big shoutout to the super friendly staff—they made the whole experience feel extra welcoming. And the housemade sauces are a major win. Loved the self-serve urns so you can sample as much as you want or take some to go. Definitely planning to come back and try more!

It’s interesting that the first time I came over I wasn’t impressed but the second I came by I kinda enjoyed the food here. The place is in a mall so parking shouldn’t be difficult. It’s easy to make a reservation online but there is probably not a need to as I havent found it difficult to get seating. Most of the people ordered to go so there is usually some seating available. The seating at the patio seems to be more popular but because the location can get really hot I prefer it indoors.

The people working here are usually really young and they do try their best and I’m impressed that they cleaned up without feeling grossed out by the leftover food.

I really enjoyed the ribs and the sauces are great. The sausages are not bad either but I think pork ribs are the best chicken on the menu. It can be a little dry without the sauce but that’s why the sauces are available. Although they charge for sauces when you order to go but you can ask for sauce when you take leftovers after dining in.

I like the vibe of the restaurant even though it doesn’t seem like a good fit for the decor of the overall shopping center. Overall I’d say I’ve had better BBQ but in the Bay Area this is good enough if you miss BBQ.

The BBQ is not bad and I would rate it as one of the better ones in the Bay Area that I’ve been to. That’s not a high standard though as the BBQ action in this area is a bit weak and pricy. The location is convenient to other foods, retail and a lot of parking. Unlike many other dishes, BBQ thrives on authenticity and craftsmanship. It’s hard to explain yet easy to identify. If your BBQ shop isn’t smoking, it’s probably not delivering.

We visited the Corte Madera location this time, and while I hate to say it, I was a bit disappointed.

The beef brisket was still incredibly tender and juicy, with a perfect smokiness from the Oak. The rich, deep flavor of the meat was so good that it didn’t even need any sauce—just as I remembered from my previous visit. However, the baby back ribs were a letdown. Unlike the ones I had in Emeryville, these were dry and lacked the same depth of flavor. I used to enjoy the ribs on their own, but this time, I had to rely on the sauce to make up for the difference.

I happen to be an avid Smoker and BBQ enthusiast. Traveled and attended competitions all over the USA. I find many restaurants that attempt brisket fall short. This brisket was by far one of the best outside of Texas and the midwest I have been to. The bark ring went deep into the meat, and the meat was very moist and tender. My second favorite was the Mac and cheese. Perfect amount of creamy cheese and the noodles were perfect. I also sampled some ribs, cornbread, and coleslaw. The ribs would were full of flavor. The cornbread seemed to have some jalapeños I believe in them, but so suttle even a person with the those sensitive to spice would have enjoyed them. The service was quick and friendly. This location is in a bustling outdoor mall with many other places to see. Highly recommend. I do not think I have rated a Bbq establishment a 5 in the past. They are worthy of it, though.

October 2023:
Stopped by to pick up takeaway food. Decided to order the family style meal which included three meats, four sides and three sauces.

For the meat, went with the chicken, brisket and the ribs. Sides were the mac and cheese, collard greens, parker rolls and the beans.

I thought all the meats were great. The chicken was probably my favorite. Brisket and ribs were very solid options too.

I enjoyed the parker rolls. Would definitely like to eat more of these delicious rolls!

Overall, I enjoyed the family meal. I’d order this again!
