Walking in the door to Pietro’s was like walking in the door to your Italian grandmother’s house… Immediately we were greeted like family, and doted on the entire visit. This is a small intimate restaurant, so reservations are a must. We were surrounded by wine selections lining the walls and pictures of friends and family where wine was not displayed.
We started with the Antipasto del Giorno, a large plate of cheeses, meats, bruschettes and other vegetables drizzled with olive oil and balsamic glaze shared amongst four adults. My wife had the Linguine Vongole with white sauce, myself the Pollo Mamma Lucia (not pictured). My mother had the Pasta del mare (I think that’s what it was called/comprised of pasta and seafood), it was one of the specials not listed on the menu….
Every dish was outstanding. Flavors were exquisite. These were clearly recipes and techniques that could only be perfected over time and through experience. We were even visited while eating by Pietro himself, who checked in on our experience and brought us another dish of zucchini and garlic that appeared to have been sliced thin and sauteed with olive oil and vinegar while we were dining on our appetizer. We devoured it before we could get a picture.
Pietro’s is an instant favorite. Born in Sarasota where I have lived for most of my life, this place is an automatic and easy pick for me to be the best Italian restaurant experience I have ever had.

Pietro’s was delicious—but it was so much more than just a great meal. From the moment you walk in, you’re wrapped in this intimate, charming atmosphere: warm wood walls, racks of wine, and a cozy energy that immediately makes you want to stay awhile.
The food was excellent, but what truly sets Pietro’s apart is the people. The staff and owners were exceptional—welcoming, genuine, and clearly proud of what they’ve built. We were even visited by the chef, which made the experience feel personal and special.
There was a shared joy in the room that night, and it was obvious it flowed directly from the staff. It’s the kind of place that reminds you why dining out can still feel magical. We’ll absolutely be back.

Food was great, staff was amazing. Very friendly. Small place, definitely get reservations. Fealt a little crowded but I am a fat guy so that’s normal. Had multiple appetizers, all were great. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Dessert was all great. They were very helpful with wine choices.

I had an absolutely amazing experience. The food was delicious and came out fairly quickly. We have been coming to Pietro’s for years and years. What stood out to me the most on this particular visit, was the phenomenal customer service. Bri was our waitress, and she was super busy when we came in for dinner. She greeted us in a timely manner, took our drink orders, and had then back to us within just a minute or two at the very most. Bri went above and beyond the call of duty our entire visit. We watched her move around the restaurant with enthusiasm, and the smile left her face. She is a wonderful employee, and she shows the true definition of Great Customer Service. Congratulations Pietro’s Bri is a Winner!

Driving by, you would hardly notice it in a strip along South Tuttle. But as soon as you open the door, you are transported to the best of Italy. You are greeted by a friendly host who guides you into a warmly lit fine dining experience. The decor is fabulous, with one wall dedicated to the wines, fresh flowers on the tables, and string lights creating the perfect atmosphere.
The service was also impeccable. Joanna was a fantastic waitress. She was knowledgeable, attentive, and kind without being pushy or invasive.
And then there’s the food. From the Lamb Chops with Risotto and the Veal Parmigiana to the Pollo Mamma Lucia, every bite was a taste of heaven.
Pietro himself stopped by to make sure all was well, share in a joke, and expound on the delights of food.
The last thing I would say is to be prepared for the price tag. While it is worth every penny for the entire experience, it is fine dining.

This was so fun! From the moment we walked through the door we felt the welcome and the joy of this restaurant. Our server, Joanna, was kind and attentive. The tapenade and gorgeous bread were plain delicious! The Lamb and risotto with mushrooms were fantastic. The atmosphere was so cozy.

First time dining here. Nothing short of spectacular! Bruschetta was one of the best ever. Other dishes were wonderful, but what really put this over the top was the service and the extreme friendliness and warmth of the staff. Joanna was the best! And the restaurant’s atmosphere was beautiful and cozy. This is a new favorite in town!

What an absolutely delightful dining experience we had. First of all, the minute you arrive you are welcomed by a plethora of folks who are sincerely glad you’re there. We had a group of six and lucked out by being seated in the wine room. Such a fun vibe. But truthfully, there is not a bad seat in the house; everywhere is charming. Next, the service was impeccable. Johanna took excellent care of us. From water service to selecting our wines to our foods coming out, everything was spot on. Peter (Pietro) came to greet us and is adorable! We met his lovely wife too. A power couple indeed! The food was UNREAL, as in the best meal I have had in Sarasota! Do yourself a favor and go! We can’t wait to go back. Thank you to everyone at Pietro’s for our amazing evening!
