We were there on Black Friday for lunch and we waited for less than five minutes to be seated. Highly recommended.
When it comes to Chicago’s culinary scene, two categories often underwhelm: Italian food and bakeries — and *Gourmet Pierrot* fits neatly into that pattern. I’ll start with the positives: the service was genuinely pleasant and attentive. Unfortunately, that’s where the praise ends.
If you’re going to charge **$15 per pastry**, they need to be exceptional — and these were far from it. The **zucchini muffin** was, frankly, unappealing, the **banana cream éclair** was quite good flavor-wise but nowhere near worth the price, and the **swan cake**, despite its lovely presentation, was disappointingly average. The **coffee** was fine, but again, nothing to write home about.
Overall, *Gourmet Pierrot* feels like a place that prioritizes style and pricing over substance. Beautiful displays, friendly staff — but if you’re after genuinely great pastries, your money will go much further elsewhere.
Pierrot Gourmet is a charming gem with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The green-themed décor is elegant and fresh, and the space is impeccably clean. We ordered the pastry basket, and every single item was absolutely delicious—flaky, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The cappuccino was smooth and perfectly crafted. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing and high-quality coffee and pastry experience.
