F’burg Foodie
Having grown up in VA and frequently traveling to the Williamsburg area for over 45 years, I had often heard about this place and its reputation as an institution. Recently, while passing through, I decided to stop in for lunch. The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly, maintaining a clean lobby. However, their menu isn’t very accommodating for trying a variety of meats, as they sell brisket by the pound with a half-pound minimum. Typically, I enjoy sampling a range of items like ribs, sausage, chicken, and brisket from a smokehouse. Due to the limited ordering options, I opted for a brisket sandwich.
I paired my brisket sandwich with beans and coleslaw. Although the $33 price tag for a sandwich and two sides seemed steep, I hoped the quality of the food would justify the cost. Unfortunately, the brisket was quite disappointing. It lacked a bark and had minimal smoke flavor. The meat was uniform in color and bland in taste, with a thick ring of fat that needed to be removed. It seemed like the brisket had not been smoked at a low temperature long enough.
The coleslaw was also underwhelming and bland, despite my attempts to enhance it with salt and pepper. I eventually discarded it. The baked beans were the highlight of the meal, with the addition of hot dog slices giving them a nice touch. The BBQ sauce was just average.
Overall, I would not return. The food did not justify the high price and didn’t provide the quality BBQ experience I had anticipated.

We’ve been coming once a year for years, this is a tradition to look forward to! The pulled pork sandwich is good. The price is steep for the size. My husband had the hamburger, he said if he had closed his eyes, he wouldn’t have known the difference between Pierce’s burger and a 5 guys burger! Can’t wait to come back next year! Also, your drink comes in a souvenir cup (not just a water)

We stopped here on vacation based on reviews and notes on gluten free options. Even though the place was PACKED (always a good sign at a BBQ place), the staff kept things moving quickly. My wife stated that she had Celiac disease and then placed her order from the gluten free menu items. A few minutes later, they called us up and noted that one item from her order could be cross contaminated from other items and allowed us to change her order. All of our food was delicious, and we really appreciate the care they took to ensure safety for our entire family. We would absolutely visit again!

Entering the building I definitely liked the environment. It kind of remind me of home with all the pictures and decor. Everything was great except the fact they only had one selection of bbq sauce in the condiments area. Maybe it’s my own fault, but I just expected that they would offer some variety when so many others in the area offer multiple types. Other than that I would highly recommend!

We visited Pierce’s Pitt BBQ and, unfortunately, we weren’t very impressed. I didn’t care for the BBQ sauces on any of the items. One sauce tasted like it had too much of something maybe cinnamonand the other leaned too heavy on something that reminded me of maple syrup.
On the positive side, the hush puppies and greens were very good, and the fries were okay. I wasn’t a fan of the coleslaw.
Overall, it just wasn’t to our taste, though we did enjoy a couple of the sides and the service was fast and the staff was friendly.

I went there for dinner with my family. The food was ok. I wasn’t particularly impressed. The cornbread was pretty good. The banana pudding was pretty good.
The pulled pork and the pork ribs didn’t have much flavor other than the BBQ sauce. The BBQ sauce was ok, but it wasn’t something I’d feel the need to come back and have again.

Fantastic pulled pork BBQ sandwich that hit the spot. Also had green beans, Brunswick stew and baked beans. Consistently delivers with BBQ you’d expect to find in North Carolina.

I was staying at a resort down the street looking for a bbq place for my family of 5 and I found this place. The minute we walked in the people greeted us and was very nice. The food was so great me and my husband shared the full rack of ribs which fell right off the bone very delicious with some baked beans and potatoe salad. The beans are to die for they was so good I had to go back to order another just to take home. My boys had chicken tenders that tasted very good it had a great seasoning on it and was very moist, brisket sandwich which melted in your mouth, and a cheeseburger with fries and let me tell you everything tasted great. Its hidden but its definitely worth looking for i will definitely be going back. And for dessert banana pudding and carrot cake which is freshly done
