I tried a couple of appetizers: the mussels were fantastic, bursting with flavor, while the cauliflower bits were decent but could have used a bit more crunch—perhaps a harder fry would do the trick. If I return, I’ll definitely ask for that adjustment. Overall, a pleasant experience with potential for improvement!
What stood out the most was overhearing ongoing internal confusion regarding employee documentation and W2 information. It was unsettling to witness what appeared to be staff members unsure about basic employment matters. Transparency and professionalism should be foundational in any establishment, and the lack of it was noticeable.
There was also visible tension between management and staff, and it created an uncomfortable dining experience. When bias and internal issues spill into the customer space, it reflects deeper systemic problems.
Overall, the environment felt chaotic rather than welcoming. As a paying customer, you expect quality service and a cohesive operation. Instead, the experience felt unstable and poorly managed.
Based on what I observed, I would not recommend Pier 115.
Unfortunately, this place used to have an amazing happy hour but they changed the policy. Instead of having several categories of items at half price, they now have a very limited listing of $9 appetizers. They also have discounts on beer and wine.
The other problem I had yesterday was getting service. The pizza came, but I had to try to find someone to bring the usual accoutrement, crushed red pepper, oregano, etc. I also had to go to the bar and get a beer myself because my waitress was not to be found. Keep in mind, the weather wasn’t great so the place was practically empty. I think there were two or three other tables besides the people at the bar, so it’s not like it was busy. I honestly have no idea what our waitress was doing but they didn’t notice my empty beer for 15 minutes so I had to go to the bar and order one myself after also having to chase down the toppings for the pizza.
I know it was a slow night, but in my opinion that’s no excuse for bad service especially when there isn’t a crowd at the restaurant.
I did speak to the manager to express my feelings about the happy hour. I don’t know if that will do any good, but it definitely was one of the best happy hours anywhere and now it is subpar as far as I’m concerned.
If you don’t care about happy hour, don’t be too concerned about the experience that I had with the wait staff. It could have been an anomaly. I find overall the food to be good quality if a bit expensive, so come on a nice day, sit outside and enjoy the views!
My fiancé and I dined here for brunch and we ordered the following: General Tso’s Cauliflower wings, Prince Edward Island Mussels, Lemon Ricotta Pancakes (brunch item!), Chicken Vodka Parm pizza, and the Linguini di Mare.
The appetizers, the cauliflower wings & mussels, were amazing!! The sauce in the wings was perfectly sweet and spicy, and the cauliflower was crispy and cooked well. Mussels had a delectable sauce and was pretty fresh!
The pancakes were lovely, I wasn’t too crazy about it but the lemon ricotta and berry compote were delish. My linguini di mare was perfect – it had shrimp, clams, and scallops with a delicious broccoli pesto sauce. I really enjoyed it!! Pizza was okay, nothing crazy/special, but was good.
The experience was fine as well. I felt like our servers weren’t as attentive as I would like, but they were sweet nonetheless when they spoke with us.
Lastly, the view is gorgeous! Sadly we weren’t able to sit outside the day we were there, but I bet it is so beautiful during warmer days especially around sunset time!
